On doubt!

I'm not talking about doubting faith. People shouldn't have doubt there. Because, lets face it. If you have doubt, you don't have faith!

But, apart from that, there shouldn't be anything that is certain. Especially when considering the actions of people. Especially people who think that they are CERTAIN that their on god's side or doing god's work. They have no doubt that they're right, while the rest of the world see them as crazy lunatics

When people have doubt, it makes them sharp, it forces them to go the extra mile to investigate and make sure what they're doing is right. Even better when they're executing their plan they try to keep checking that they are on track with their idea. They have doubts that might cause them to end up off course. They have doubt!

Doubt doesn't mean that you be indecisive. They're unrelated. Doubt gives you the healthy fear that allows you to function. That allows you to question. If something is a given, then why even bother thinking? Why bother finding alternatives? Why do the diligence?

Doubt helps people not to take offense when someone finds their faults. Doubt allows people to keep an open mind for options, for alternate thoughts and other people's diverse experience.

What people take as a given might be farthest from the truth. Five hundred years ago, people thought Earth was flat. A hundred and two years ago, people thought flight was impossible. And twenty years ago, camera cell phones ware an unlikely sci-fi gadget that would never exist!
