It's written that Satan used to be at the class of Angels, he was devout, extremely religious and on God's righteous side. Then, he became arrogant with his faith and fell for vanity. He thought that he is better than others, and that his good deeds will guarantee him a position on God's side. He thought wrong..

Today, it kills me to see the same story repeating it self again, with people who think they have it set. And that everyone else is inferior because they prayed a little bit more. Or they shortened their pants a little bit more!

It's a wonderful thing that God doesn't judge people like people judge people! It's truly a relief! When a person think that because they prayed a little bit more or recited more of Quran that this is their ticket to heaven. While everyone else are going to rot outside because they didn't pray as much

It's sad when someone look down upon another person just because he think he's more religious and knows religion more than others. All while forgetting one of the religions main virtues, Humility.

I swear, there are many times that I felt so angry that I was about to leave the mosque to never ever return, just because of these faces that are full of false pride. Fake piety. If anything, they're farthest from it than anyone else.

When I talk to these people, I start feeling as if they really control the gates of heaven. As if someone gave them the authority to allow people your like in, and deny people they deem unworthy. They make the person hate what they stand for, in ways you can't imagine.

I'm sure being in paradise with them is not going to be that great time anyway! So there you go, go ahead, lock the gates shut behind you. If the Lord wants to reward someone it would be to keep him as far away from you as possible!

Just remember what the prophet PBUH said, "No one with an atom's weight of false pride shall enter it". So all you zealous, go ahead, lock the gate, if you can!

You meet alot of them because sadly enough, in this part of the world, people go to mosques to pretty much socialize. I can safely say that about the people I know anyway. They do not respect the holiness of the vicinity - they are just using to it to meet other people , probably much like themselves.

The Bible records that Satan is a fallen angel: the most beautiful of the angels and the chief poet and song maker in Heaven. His giftings were his downfall, however, as he tried to elevate himself to God's level and was cast out of Heaven.

As for pride and false piety, unfortunately it exists in all religions. The only way to combat these attitudes is to realize that no amount of prayer, fasting, good deeds, alms giving or sacrifice are enough to merit a free ticket into Heaven. The Bible says in the book of Ephesians (2:8-9) that is save from destruction by the grace of God through faith alone and not by man's "righteous" works. It is a gift that we cannot earn; if man could earn it, he would spend eternity boasting about his accomplishments. And the book of Titus (3:5) states that God saves us because of His mercy, not because of our "righteous" deeds.

In other words, working your butt off for a ticket into heaven is going to come up short.

Satan was not an angel. He is from "Jenn" (dont know what is that in English! God created him from Fire and created Angels from Light.

Anyway, being arrogant shows that u don't know the essence of Islam.

Bilal, that is true. In Islamic tradition Satan is a 'jenn' (this concept is not there in Christianity). He is created from fire (nar), whereas angel's are created from light (nour). Another distinction is that he had free will, like other jinn's, whereas angel's don't have free will; they are created for one purpose only-- worshipping Allah. Howevere, Satan was one of Allah's faithful worshippers, hence he was elevated to the position of the angels. When Allah created Amad, and ordered the angel's to bow (sajd), he had the power to choose, and refused to obey Allah's order becaue he thought he is better than man, he is created from fire, whereas Adam from clay.
On the other hand, in Christian tradition Satan was an angel from the start; Dave was referrig to Christian tradition.
Also, in Christianity there are 'Demons,' but those are not 'Jinn.'

If you read my first sentence again, you'll notice that I said: "At the class of Angels" not "he was an angel"

But thank you both for clearing that up.

Demons I believe are there in both religions. In Islam demons (Shayateen) are not even restricted to Jinn since there are human demons.
So you have angels and demons in Christianity, while you have Angels and Jinn in Islam. Jinn may or may not be bad. The bad ones are called demons

I think you have been un-fair with your poster. I do not know how often do you go to mosque if you go there just in Ramadan and Friday like me , we do not have right to critics strongly who work to keep mosque cleaned and opened for us. I agree with you, sometime your blood get boiled when preacher start saying nonsense indicating he lives in different world. But he and who are in charge in mosque do great job and need to be grateful for them.

What do you think if someone go to mosque wearing necklace or or rings and Ti shirt with picture of girls. ? is it acceptable?.These people who do it m they should be adviced in good manner.

You and other youths who goes to mosque try to find an excuse to not going to mosque. Although there are some neagtives in mosque we should resist it and change if there is something wrong and be good listener and polite who are older and educated in islam
