    3an jad
i don't know how these people think!! what a losers, i remember back in uni some girl didn't want to talk to a girl just because she was from Zarqa... pretty shallow if you ask me.. i can't stand these people eh!
    La3nat alah 3ala al shitan.
this is just coz most of them aren't happy with what they have, they have issues

Kont ra7 akol moos b wejhe bel wa7dat 3ashan an old mobile, shu bte7ki ya man.. inta eb usa mesh jordan you can judge, what the girls said is true.. most of the eastern side is so messed up, that doesnt mean that all of them are, thats just generalizing but you can't say its safer than the western side. and whats wrong with beirut? can you come up with 10% of what it gave.

    Moey,
20 years ago there was hardly any Western Amman!
Wi7dat is a refugee camp, and it doesn't represent ALL of eastern Amman, which happens to hold all of the ever diminishing middle class. Most educated people really can't afford to live elsewhere.

What the girl said can't be farther from the truth. She was born, raised and felt hunger in eastern Amman all her life. And now that her family got in the money laundering business she started bitching at Eastern Amman!

Beirut for people who don't know is the embodiment of sectarian violence. The disputes between all ethnicities never stopped. They have been raging for well over 40 years, they reached their peak during the civil war. In other words. We should learn from what happened in Beirut and make sure it never happens in Amman. These socially unjust conditions are fueling it

Read what Mala2e6 said above. Read it carefully, and you will get a lot of value and deep meanings. Especially the part about polishing the western part of Amman

still you don't live in eastern amman to judge, all of you! I know people who like it and people who suffer from it, and the ones who suffer are more...

and if you kept calling all bad people refugees from the camps, then who else is not bad?

I still don't blame the girls, I went to eastern amman for documentary shooting for some magazine (can't say more details because it isn't published yet). trust me, the new generation is good. some of the old generation should be bombed like Hiroshima
Actually Moey, I do. I live in Eastern Amman and I'm really proud of the people around here.
The suffering is artificial. It is induced due to the conditions that Eastern Amman is in. Mainly due to GAM neglecting these neighborhoods for decades while polishing western Amman nonstop

I didn't call bad people refugees. Nor is a refugee camp a location for bad people to assemble. It's a location with really bad living conditions more than anything

I really don't like your statement about new and old generations there. Who are you to play god and decide that they don't deserve to live!

Moey, I hate to say this but you sound like you have a lot of prejudice and this keeps surfacing. You think you (or your likes) are superior to people. Let me assure you that you are not! No one is.

LOL, I told you I was gonna get my face stabbed for a kinky old mobile in we7dat, in the morning! not at night.

good luck for you and eastern amman, and you don't live there, you visit it you don't live there. some of the old people there are typically I-love-saddam-hussain and you-come-from-kuwait-you-collect-money-from-the-sea type of people, ya zalameh It took me 30 minutes to describe graphic design to someone there, and bel a5er be7keli: 2aah ya3ni rasem!!

esh bte7ki man, and don't blame the government, people can manage to live well and educate/teach their children manners under any circumstances, alot of people move out of camps, it's not Jordan's fault in the first place.

enjoy eastern amman, inshalla el coffee there seattle standards?
Actually moey, many of the people who live in Eastern Amman used to live in the Gulf. But being low income folks they couldn't afford western Amman housing. Or even have been living there fore ever.
Many of the most well educated people in Jordan actually live in Eastern Amman, in fact the King himself lives in eastern Amman.

There were people living in Eastern Amman who do graphic design before most of western Amman was even on the map. Don't judge the whole by the few. I'm sure I can I find a janitor in Western Amman who would never understand what Graphic design is. In fact, I can assure you that you might go to one of the rich barons in Abdoun and some might not know what the hell you're talking about.

As for coffee, let me reassure you, that the quality of the raw coffee we have over here, is 10 folds better than the junk they have at Starbucks. In fact, we give it as gifts to select people that we like. Seriously!

Finally regarding manners. The worst mannered people I've seen, and I'm not exaggerating were the kids from the most expensive and prestigious schools...
Moey, i live in eastern amman and i do remember whan dowar al da5eleya kan 3ajal sayarah,in e amman smal time criminals,in west amman is almushkela.

Well, how come the most rude students at my university are from raghadan?

anyways, 5alas forget because I don't want to get more into this. but the separation will be there always and everywhere.
Guys, you dont have to fight each other, both sides of Amman are beautiful. Yes, a lot of people with time have moved from the Eastern side to the most modern Western side. No one can deny that those who are left behind are in general poorer than those who moved. Most only stayed there because they cant afford the living expenses in the west part. I think that I would move back to the Eastern part if I ever had to live in my own house! With the current cost of buying or rent a house in Western Amman, I don't think that I can afford it anyway in the coming few years. I am glad to stay celibate and living with my parents!

In general poorer people have less education opportunity and less time caring for the well fair of their children, but so is applicable for some of the rich people where they spoil their children where they think themselves Gods walking on this earth!

Both sides should learn to tolerate each other, a poor man now might not be that poor in 10 years, and a rich man now may loose all his money in a catastrophe. It would be wise to help our own selves and if we can help those poor getting better living conditions. Instead of bashing them, why not lend them a hand and help them?

    The Observer
You're right for the most part in what you said. But I noticed that the poorer people tend to focus more on studying since it's thier only chance. And the top ranking students -Jordan wide- are relatively poor.

I tend to side with Qwaider here. People living in West Aamman are growing indifferent to those living in other places in Amman and Jordan in general as if it is a different country, and they do look down on them despite the fact that West Amman was almost nonexistent 30 years ago.

what the girl said is true if u like it or not. we know our roots had lived there even jabal eltaj naser ....etc but they left it and whose still there are really different most of them don`t continue thier studying girls leave school and marry ...etc. when you`ll live in jordan you`ll see the difference.
    Bluelilly!
NO what the girl said is NOT true. It's crap! It's prejudice and it's racist.
There are many people who live in Eastern Amman who are more educated and well behaved than most of the western Amman..
Many are continuing their education nowadays. Many girls are graduating and not getting married for the first suitor. Something that is NOT LIMITED TO eastern Amman

    Alright alright guys ....
To be honest , I think this discussion will get us nowhere , we are talking about East and west side of our capital as if someone draw a line to seperate us , before talking as racists lets remember that whoever live in West side of Amman MUST have either relatives , friends or even buisness in East side of Amman and vise virsa , SOOOO , I see no point to judge each other based on where u live especialy that Internet , Satelite TV channels is available to everyone in both sides , so they can learn ,educate and  imitate nice models  .

Also , there is a lot of places that we are not too sure if it belongs to East or west side , for example , Sport city , Shafaa badran , Marj el Hammam , Tabarbour .....etc
If u look at the map of Amman u will notice that where the hell is NORTH Amman and South Amman from all this ???
