Wanting to spend more time on charity work, bill gates decided to step down from Chief software architect and CEO and will probably move to become the world richest philanthropist...

    Bill Gates

Bill Gates is stepping down from Chief Software Architect (CSA) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to spend more time on the Bill and Malinda Gates charity foundation. This was released today in a Webcast. This is still not in the news at the time of writing, so I have no main stream media links. But will update once it hits mainstream media. You heard it here first. Blogging at it's best

Vowing to return all his wealth back tosociety through charity work. Bill and Stevedecided to reorganize the top level management at Microsoft.

The decision was made that there will be two years transition and that hewill step down in July 2008

(Microsoft generates almost 1 billion dollars in profit a month and have hit 12Billion dollars in revenue in the last quarter alone)

He called it "Reordering of my priorities" and not a retirement

Bill will be succeeded by Steve Ballmer, his life long friend and Current CEO of Microsoft. Who vowed to continue the march. Who also laid a map for the shape of things to come and how everything will remain the same if not tackling the same issues with even more relentlessness and agility

To be clear: Bill is not stepping right away, there will be a 2 year transition, after the two year transition he'll continue to be Chairman and an adviser on key development projects on a part-time basis

Yeh he called me and asked me to take his position but I told him that I would never leave Jeeran and Jordan :-)
In the webcast, one of the reporters for Business Week I think asked him if Malinda had anything to say about it. And he said that he consulted her, and ran away from the answer ;-) I guess she did!
And Ofcourse 7ala Any company in the world would be honored to have you

Dish washer doesn't just benefit women. Think of all the restaurants and businesses.
You know what the sad part is? She never patented it, and didn't make money out of her invention
    Check this out:
    Josephine Cochrane
In 1886 Josephine Cochrane exclaimed, "If nobody else is going to invent a dishwashing machine, I'll do it myself!" She invented it and for a while her machine was only used in large restaurants and hotels.

JOSEPHINE COCHRANE--invented the dishwasher in 1886, in Shelbyville, Illinois. Mrs. Cochrane was a rich woman who had lots of fancy dinner parties. She didn't do any of the dishes herself because she had servants to do that for her, but she wanted a machine that could do the job faster without breaking as many dishes. No one had invented such a machine so she built one herself. First she measured the dishes. Then she built wire compartments, each specially designed to fit either plates, cups, or saucers. The compartments were placed inside a wheel that lay flat inside a copper boiler. A motor turned the wheel while hot soapy water squirted up from the bottom of the boiler and rained down on the dishes. Her invention worked! Her friends were really impressed and had her make dishwashing machines for them, calling them the "Cochrane Dishwasher."

Her friends talked a lot about their new machines and soon, Mrs. Cochrane was getting orders for her dishwashing machine from restaurants and hotels in Illinois. She patented her design and went into production. She showed her invention at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and won the highest award.

Like I spend my days and nights with him Mo. Yeah, he's different, we usued to play pool together but now he's too busy heheheh
Umm, ever heard of IM? This post should have had commments about Bill Gates and you're turning to Jaly and washing machines! :P

Heck, I thought I'd at least read one with: "Microsoft is evil", "Bill Gates is the devil", "Kill Bill, Oh, right he's dying already". None of that, NADA! :|

Anyway mate, hope your server issues are resolved now ... :)
Dude, Microsoft and Bill are far from it. But people enjoy being "fanboys". You can't imagine how difficult it is to create an Operating system as huge as Windows. The fact is. Windows is the largest piece of software EVER created on the planet. That is just amazing!
As for Bill, I don't think anyone can doubt how much of a great man he is. He funds places like "Jordan river foundation" and has tons of charitable contribution. If anything he deserves our respect
I was talking about the comments matey, lol.
