No no, Sarah Jessica Parker is not planning a new season in Amman, this series stars local talent. 100% home grown in the fancy English speaking suburbs in Amman. And no these are not foreigners or imported sex workers from Eastern Europe. These are local talents. Guys and gals from middle class and higher living and following the Parker's teachings of to the letter!

    Sex and the City

I'm not exaggerating at all. All you need to do is to search a bit in the Jordanian blogs and you might stumble upon these. It won't be too hard.

You will start hearing stories about these (mostly females) talking about their encounters with their "BF's" and how he turned out to be a good/average/great kisser after going out with him on date!

Search some more and you will see more secrets and techniques on how to keep your life in your boyfriend's bedroom active and fun. And you'll even find tips on how to get away without having your mother catch you with blisters around your mouth or love bites on your neck or worse!

But to give credit where credit is due the mother was very firm when she finds out. And would be very strict in asking if he has called that day, where is the whole thing going and tries to make sure that the daughter is using the right concealer so that those love-bites don't leave a mark.

I went through a bunch of these and started thinking! It seems that I'm missing-out on all the action back in Jordan! I mean, if the guys and gals are having so much fun clubbing, pubbing, drinking, one-night-standing, multi-partnering ...etc .. then I should really disconnect my HBO subscription and just go to Amman and enjoy the show first hand. Who knows the Soprano's will probably follow soon after! Since "Big love" was stolen from 7aj Mitwalli anyways.

What's up Jordan!!? What ever happened to all the strict families?! I remember how the lady friends way back when. it was easier for them to die than to leave home late, and the new generation is getting laid as a routine thing!!? The guys even have score cards!!? My god!

Look, I'm not uptight or too strict .. but for god's sake .. this is way too much! Doing it behind closed doors in a don't-ask-don't-tell situation is one thing. But 3aini-3ainak (in broad daylight) is really ... really not who we are!

On the other-hand, I might just be jealous!

What's up Jordan?! Something to think about. Like you said, it is NOT who we are.
    Oh my god
    Oh my god
Oh my god @ what you wrote Q!!! No way what you mentioned really happening, ya rabbi sho sar bedenya??
But on the other hand LOOOOOOOOOL @ Bakkouz :D HAHAHA lakan had esmo old fashion?? Allah ybashrak bel 5ear m3naha had kolna safeana mn el 3asr elli absar sho esmo LOL!
Bakkouz, you had to be careful when articulating your last sentence"يعني هدول الناس اللي عايشين بأميريكا ليش يعني بساوو شو ما بدهم "
though I know you were somehow joking about it (if im not mistaken) :D but believe me, it is an individualistic matter.. people have choices and whether in Jordan or here in America, it is a matter of choosing a lifestyle that suites you, your faith, ethical and moral standards.. etc

to tell you the truth i too was shocked with i read on blogs about open dating and pre marital sex...gosh i lived in canada and i was not allowed to go out after 7pm...or sometimes at 9 if we were at the mall late..hubby wants to leave canada because of all this openess and raise our kids in good ol' jordan...but i guess it is not the same like he remebers it o so many years ago..even homosexuality is becoming more and more common and open here..they will not be teaching about it in schools anytime soon..but still..
EEEGHHH... There will always be people on both sides...

I was there 2 months ago.... there is a lot of bitchiness going in amman but believe me people it is not to the extent that we compare ourselves with america or europe... those people are still the minority and their behavior is still looked at as "unusual"...

Damn those biology teachers who taught me that human brain is contained in what is well known as skull .. They all were proven damn wrong and found that the distance between where they defined brain and the current location is about 90cm down.

To be honest, I haven't encountered such before and never saw what you are talking about, probably as I am looking most likely in religious websites more than googling the word sex in Jordan. So as been said "he who looks for something finds it".

Still we have plenty in Jordan who are still proud of their conservative roots, not to forget that Jordan population is about 6 million, and I don't think that 200 or even  100000 blog do represent Jordan.

    Regards

Facebook and social networking websites are shaking Jordan like that. Jordan became just like the west, "because yes we are only good at copying others" Many of West Amman people are doing what they are doing because its the only way "they think" you can blend into the society. Everyone out there somewhat looks like a movie character or trying to act like someone from a popular series or film. There is nothing better than being an Original Arab with Morals, Tradition, and most important, Faith in your life. Thanks for the article, we need more awareness before we get more polluted by western media.

    Walsalamu alaikom.

    Peace!

I agree, but I think that's something that is sweeping the whole world. But now that the luster of the west is fading. I'm not sure people are going to continue to simply "follow"

    Let's keep hoping
