This is my sixth month without a single cigarette. And I mean that religiously, NOT A SINGLE PUFF! No Cigar, no cigarette, no Argeeleh NOTHING! And frankly, I feel way better!

After overcoming the initial withdrawal (which is not trivial) and later on the sporadic triggers here and there. And ballooning weight increase. Everything started to stabilize and go back to normal. In fact, my sense of smell has returned! (seriously) Now I CAN smell smoke or people who smoke, or the place where people smoked

It's so hard to see life without cigarettes at the beginning. I was doubtful that I would be able to do it. But, as I entered the sixth month, I look back and remember how I used to be. Always carrying extra "lighters" and "packs" and whatever. Excusing my self every now and then to go for a smoke.. Trying to be courteous when there are little children and the agony of going on a flight!

Now that it's all gone... I am feeling healthier, and I finally feel that I can go up stairs .. and do things ... Things I wouldn't have been able to do when I used to smoke

I know, I'm not completely clean from my addiction. I know that my body and lungs will take several years to recover. But, I'm glad I'm not adding to the problem. I'm glad I'm on the way out.

I'm grateful to every person who ever assisted in any way. From tough love, to positive encouragement to showing disappointment. It was all worth it. I am, in a much better place today, than I was few months back

Way to go Q....mabrook on your six months mark...
Wow, good for you! 3o2bal 3ndi!! I quit for TWO YEARS and relapsed overnight on an extremely depressing day, planning to have "just one cigarette!!" but it was pretty much downhill from there. Five months and 8 quit attempts later, I'm still smoking :(( New quit date is 08/01... Come hell or high water, I'm doing it!! Wish me luck man!
I really miss my sense of smell :'(
PS I read a medical article that if you quit smoking before you're 30, in 3 years, it will be like you had never smoked!
Go for it Tinkerbella ... You owe it to yourself, your health, your future, and your future children to do this. And most importantly.. YOU CAN DO IT!
I did it without any aids..

I hope this serves as a reminder and an encouragement for people to do it too.
