A new form of scam is "Link" spam or link Junk. This new form is being used to inflate some advertising/malicious websites rankings at the expense of the people who might get scammed into linking to them. Here are some tips for you to stay safe!

    1. Make sure that you check EVERY LINK that will be posted on your site.
As a blogger, you will get links for people who comment. Or as part of the comment. If the link seems to be suspicious or promoting something. REMOVE IT. Don't even hesitate. This is tactic number one that these people use to promote their sites

Don't be fooled by the flattery in some of those comments. It may or may not be true, but the fact of the matter is that it's harmful. Not just to you but to your readers as well
    2. If ANYONE asks you to post a link to them, make sure you investigate the reason, and where that link is going.
Someone might take advantage of that link and redirect it to a place that you might not agree with. Based on content or ideas. Don't be fooled into that trap either
    3. Companies and individuals who "Promise" to promote your site in exchange for you having a little "link" to their site are usually the ones who will benefit. What they're trying to do is gain popularity at your expense.
Worse yet, you might be linked or associated with their type of Shady business. Something to always keep in mind
    4. When employing things like advertising, (such as AdSense) make sure that the content is up to your liking. I'm sure you will not want to promote Beef products if you're a vegetarian

The more popular you get, the more tempting the offers become. From monetary to promotional ... Don't be fooled, and know the real intentions of these people..

    Memories....

    Thank you.
I also noticed in the past couple of days that some spam comments got away from Akismet.. I still don’t know why, but I’m sure there is a problem, it never happened before.

    thank you!
I get some of those but thankfully Akimset and Spam karma take care of them immediately, but i suppose theoretically spam can never be stopped, spammers will always think of more original ways to get to you.
    Hamede, Kinzi, .. You're welcome

    It's getting worse

Yes Bakkouz, that is right. This latest "wave" is based more on social engineering. Attempting to lure unsuspecting site owners to fall for their tricks
