Memories....
HAHAHAHAHAH I MADE YOU BELIEVE hahahahaha
2- Ask for the arab neighborhood on north kedzie avenue, They got some good food over there "Was6 el balad style" ..
3- http://www.sigaralounge.com/indexa.htm , if you smoke argileh, I think they got the best in town..
And you got to check out the museum campus on the lake shore drive..
For a tasty popular Arabic breakfast, consisting of Hummus, Fuul, Falafel, and may be fatayer and Kubbeh; go to Salam Restaurant on north Kedzie Ave. I must caution you though that this is only for breakfast which means that you shouldn't order chicken or meat or fish from that place because it isn't up to par, but as far as breakfast goes it is second to none.
For lunch I recommend Reza restaurant on North Clarke Street , it is an Iranian restaurant that serves chicken, meat and fish. Their price is very reasonable and their food is very delicious plus you take the left over with you for an additional meal on the next day at home or at the hotel where you are staying.
For dinner I recommend Tuscany , it is an Italian Cuisine on west Taylor & Morgan Ave. Very popular restaurant with very delicious Italian food. This place is always loaded I recommend that you do reservation before you go there so you don't get disappointed when you find the place full of people with no seating available for additional patrons.
For leisure time you can go the Brookfield zoo, ( Lincoln Park zoo, free admission), field museum, or the botanical garden. If you have children to entertain you can take them to six flags great America , Chucky cheese, or go banana.
For going out in the evening you can check out many of the Chicago theaters, comedy clubs, dancing places on Rush Street & the 24 hours McDonalds drive through.
For late late night you can enjoy CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, or whatever satellite station you enjoy watching.
Hopefully the preceding covered all of the essential activities for one day and if you have several days to spend just repeat the same over and over again.
WHERE TO GO
-Second City (1616 N Wells St): Best improv in the United States. You have to get tickets pretty far in advance, but it's totally worth the effort.
-The Art Institute, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium (there are more museums, but those are my favorites)
-The Chicago Shakespeare Theatre: If you're into plays, definitely check this out. It's been called the best Shakespeare company in the world, and their plays are always fantastic.
-Milenium Park...especially if the ice skating rink is open
-Ferris Wheel on Navy Pier
WHERE TO EAT
-The Signature Room at the top of the John Hancock. Try to go on a clear day, because it's an incredible view. There's an elevator up to the viewing platform, but it's ridiculously expensive, and you get the same view (plus really good food) at the Signature Room.
-Hot Dougs (3324 North California): Off the beaten track, but definitely worth the trip. Hot Dougs serves "speciality" hot dogs...it's impossible to describe, but they're the best.
-Clarkes Diner (930 W. Belmont): 24 hr. diner with the best French Toast ever
-Moonstruck Chocolate Cafe (320 N Michigan Ave): best hot chocolate in Chicago
-Cereality (100 S Wacker Dr): Another tough one to describe...it's a "cereal bar" (i.e. they "mix" cereals into amazing combinations)...it's awesome
-Coco Pazzo (636 N Saint Clair St): Really good (and inexpensive) Italian food. Plus, it's a block away from the Mag Mile.
To get to all of these places, it's cheaper to use public transportation (CTA). There's the CTA Trip Planner where you can type in where you're starting from and where you want to go and it'll tell you what buses / trains to take. It's really convenient :http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/tripplanner.html
