I don't even know why I bother with Arabic channels and news! Every time I turn to one of the channels I see the same old propaganda crap. And I'm not even talking about political lies when might be up to interpretations.

The story is about an Egyptian "inventor" who invented a way to "solve the problem of traffic jams".

The idea is basically, a movable divider in that changes the number of lanes depending on the traffic. So for example. If it's early morning. All traffic is heading Into the city and hardly anything is heading outside. So using some automation, some of the lanes are switched from going out, to going in.

Great idea, right? Absolutely great! But sorry, such systems have been in place since the 80s in the developed world. Along with "HOV lanes (high occupancy vehicle)", toll roads and a million other way. People living elsewhere in the world are probably way too familiar with all of these ideas. In fact, these are almost no brainer!

I am really surprised to see people getting away with such claims. Not just that, they even make the news!

even if it's re-inventing the wheel, i think it's a good idea. now we can get the technology from egyptians instead of americans!

Adel, this isn't a pissing contest. Does it really matter if certain technologies come from America, as long as they better the lives of Jordanians?

the only thing that really describes Arabs is the ability to copycat the west in everything. I badly get bothered by copied programs that filling up our channels theses days.

The problem is not with them "copying" someone else. The problem is "claiming" that it's all theirs and lying about the origin

I agree, and frankly that's a side point. If someone makes a great invention it doesn't matter who he is or what his convictions are. As long as it betters human life

Well, the Far East takes the throne on that one. But there's noting wrong in copying success. We just don't need to claim that "We did it". And maybe "hint" that others who have done it achieved good results.
