Jordanian Painted bird

If you ever read the very interesting novel by Kosiński titled "The Painted Bird" and you're not familiar with the term from eastern Europe (Poland). It's when the boy in the novel accompanies a bird catcher, who "for entertainment" would enjoy a cruel sport known at the time(WWII era). Where the locals would capture a bird, paint it with colors and then set it free. Then entertain as they watch the bird desperately trying to rejoin it's kin, and the flock rejecting what they assume to be an intruder. So they attack the bird to death.

When I look at the current situation of many Jordanians, Palestinians and Jolistinians. I see the cruelty I just mentioned reflected onto almost everything in their lives

So many get confused with the new colors that the society, circumstances and conditions applies to some people and slowly, but surely they start losing their distinctive smell and whenever they try to rejoin their kin, they're attacked almost to death because they appear to be different.

Part of the novel talks (controversially) about the types of people who enjoy these practices that (peasants) but that can successfully be grafted to all segments of society. Just as 7afartal can exist in all classes, same goes to close mindedness and bigotry.

It's very important to realize that someone that doesn't look like us, and doesn't talk like us, or doesn't share the same perspective or ideas is not necessarily a traitor or has ill intentions but is a member of the society with an opinion that should be honored, respected and protected.

We need to change that about our mentality. Our kin is not necessarily our friend. They're also not our enemies. And the opposite is absolutely true. What we need to change is our attack mentality. Someone stating their mind should really attack people with that, and at the same time someone hearing it shouldn't feel that it's a personal attack

You've heard this before but the situation we're in is a failure to listen. It's a failure for everyone to listen an comprehend. Isn't it enough that we're a nation that doesn't read. Now we're a nation that doesn't listen .. and if we continue on this path, we're going to be the nation that no longer exists.

With all our weaknesses, we'll end up being assimilated by a superior ideology. If this is what we want, then we shouldn't wait. But if this is not ..... then we know what we need to do.. Open our heart and mind and make sure we're not attacking and killing our own kin just because they're displaying different colors
