And statistics prove it!

I was going some very dramatic and interesting results for user patterns and discovered something that I knew all along but now I have the statistics to prove it. Female bloggers get 72.5% more the traffic of male bloggers! But that's not all

    male

So according to my modest statistics of around 1 million hits collected over the course of 5 months. The statistics show certain interesting patterns.

First, women seem to attract more traffic, it has nothing to do with the content at all. names that sound feminine seem to attract more audience. I'm going to attempt to analyze the audience a little bit more but, for all practical purposes we can consider it a 50/50 audience male vs female.

Turns out, women not only attract more hits, but they have more people referring to some of their articles. Which is a little bit weird if you ask me, but apparently it happens a lot.

And finally direct hits are also consistent with the findings above, People seem to almost "memorize" or (add to favorite) more female blogs than male blogs. Coincidence? I think not

To sum up, I can clearly see now why the car industry has gone with female names for most of the cars. It's jut the fact that female cars seem to attract more people and from both genders.

And this blog is going to officially be renamed to "Daughters of thought" instead of "Memories Documented" (just kidding, I'm not changing it)

    Memories....

Makes sense since guys only think under the belt:D
Guys only think under the belt!!? Sorry, but I don't think that is true!
Lets not get into this debate, But I can assure you that 90% of the traffid to chicks blogs are males, and guess why? Because they think she is smart? No because they want to have some kind of conversation with someone from the opposite sex..
If you want to do an experiment ask some girls to put some ugly pictures in their profiles and watch the decrease in traffic..I don't know about you but I think that this is how god created us as human beings...
Mohannad, they didn't even see the picture yet, they're following the name! On the hopes the it MIGHT lead to more :)
not convinced .. it's not about the name , most of them use small sentence can be use by both male and female , i see that female posts are more interested than male's post,

But how is this related to the article posted on Qwaider Planet?? I would agree and understand that in the case of direct hits. And actually Referrers value above sort of confirm what you just said, but hits is that pure measure based on what you see is what you click.

Earthway, females seem to still attract more traffic!
    Tab e7na cute sho ne3mal ya3ni :D LOOOOOOOOOOOOL J/K…
    But I have a questions..
3andak 3ala el planet.. kam bent o kam shab 3andhom blog.. asdi meen aktar 3endhom blogs, el banat wella el shabab??? Enno balki mshan heak, mahommi el banat dayman aktar b kol shi :D
Seriously, the first blog I have ever read was "Memories Documented," and it is still the only one I can't miss. Regarding the other blogs, I seriously do not pick a specific one to read. I usually get attracted to titles of posts that link through QP, and then  if the person posts a couple of interesting posts, I start visiting their blog more frequent, and then if i feel it is a must read blog I add it to my favorites. Anyways, the name of the blog is not what attracts me, rather the title of posts.
by the way, a true word to be said: Mr. Q, you really have been doing a great job maintaining this blog and keeping it lively. You just have something to say about everything. That is what makes it a must read, at least for me, and I guess other reader here will agree with me ;))
    way to goooo ;))
"They have more people referring to some of their articles. Which is a little bit weird if you ask me, but apparently it happens a lot"

What do you mean by weird and why.

Women have better language skills and are better able to express themselves. Simple.

Interesting! I agree with Maioush! I think -too- that it's cuz females have blogs more than males. As for me, I check so many blogs during the day...mainly because I have a lot of free time :) And I guess many females are like me...
Wow this is sad for me I get more female visitors than male : ) this does not look good any way you turn it : ) LOL

But seriously what is the ratio of female bloggers to male bloggers ? this may shed some light

Intresting topic Q i was gonna talk abt it but lacked the stats so i was gonna talk abt me ...

in my blogroll i have more female bloggers than male bloggers ... and it is not because i think under the belt that much or i want to get to know some girls ... no

its plain and simple ... female bloggers are better ... especially Arab Female Bloggers ... why ??

because its their steam blower ... finally a chance for women to speak up their minds and actually be listened to ... they value their blogs more and pay much more attention to it than men and that what makes the difference ... i actually can't find alot of good male blogs (and not bloggers u r awesome) unless the mentioned above are expats or really really have something to say ... other than that you cant be attracted to male blogs.

i noticed this thing like 2 months ago ,,, but i couldnt talk without stats and now when they're out i can present my case ...

Good luck y'all ( i really do feel like dr. feel ) ...
Could it be that that males use rss feeds more than females?  People who read these feeds don't get counted.

what can I say, the stats prove it, women are just so much more interesting than men! :o)
For myself I have on my RSS reader; 8 males' blogs and 5 females' blogs.
It is not easy to tell the reason behind this, but maybe the content has some effect, maybe females are more active in commenting as Qabbani said.

    It needs some mining :)
    Ok that does it!

I'm officially changing my name to Whosniyyeh!
funny.. they might be getting hits and all, but the guys are the ones getting more comments, check the blogs urself :p
    6b lesh monza3ejen? :P
    (1) good thing for the ladies, and la7geenhon 3ale??
    :)
Wallahi I knew it all alone, hell yeah they get more hits than us! and yeah I completely second that, not only in blogs, in everything else.. bus ho baini o bainak aktar el bloggers nisawn :D

interesting post. guys tend to build up extrapolations. The best analogy is a Jordanian taxi driver.
    Maioush
    Yeah, cute, whatever
To keep the percentages relevant, I took the top 5 male compared to the top 5 females. And apparently, the top 5 males didn't stand a chance

    Secratea
My head is about the size of planet earth now :)

    7aki Faظi
Wierd because some of the articles are a single line, or one picture. That's what makes it a little bit weird.
As for women having better language skills, well ... Sorry, I disagree.

    Nido,
The reason I took the top 5 was to eliminate the "numbers" game. But it didn't make any difference. Women attract more visitors.

    Tamara,
Why is it Sad? And why is it bad? Even female audiences are attracted to your blog. I guess there must be something good there.
I don't have an idea of the female to male ratio. I decided to take the top 5 of each

    Isam
So you noticed that too? I've been noticing it for a while but had nothing to prove it with. It doesn't matter either way.
I do agree that many women find it as their "oxygen", it gives the a voice. And I think this is very helpful for all

    Khalaf
That is a possibility, however, taken click per click. Female win by a big margin. It might be that they're more selective with their titles.

    Sam,
Come on, that's not the right conclusion. Interesting is one thing, attractive is another.

    ДншдЬ,
Maybe females are, but I doubt that applies to all. I think if you pay close attention you'll find couple of male bloggers commenting almost everywhere... do you know who?

    Who-Sane
    Way to go Whosnyyeh :)

    Verbal Alchemy:
I can't get the comment count pragmatically. It will take a lot to do so. However, from my observations, I disagree with you. Some bloggers seam to get comments by the bucket loads. Even if they post nothing! (And they're female)

    Roger,
It's good I think to understand the patterns. So frankly, if I want to start an online magazine, I will call it something feminine..  Like Eve, or Softa, or La Femme :), Or follow the car trends.. Altima, Maxima, Corolla ...etc

    Jasim
Good ... :) You seem to have felt it.

    Adel
LOL .... I loved that ... so you think guys exaggerate .. while female bloggers are more realistic? That's a fantastic approach to the issue ... I guess you're going to be popular with the ladies from now on... Mr Adel Shhadeh ladies... Remember the name and visit the blog :)
bas fee theory that says men do math women do words.mish?
Actually, the Harvard professor who suggested that came under so much heat as that comment was regarded as extremely sexist.
I don't think it's true, I think both are equally talented in all disciplines. People might have an affinity to a specific topic. But I believe either is proficient more than the other

Man you disappointed me. you misinterpreted the term extrapolation. I strongly support your statistics! I am talking about them not you! ifffft

So it's correct what they say about you! An attacker?
OH MY GOD!!!! OH MY GOD!!!
Even when I say something nice, because I actually liked what you said. I get accused of attacking!
    Allhu Akbar!!
I said it in a positive way because you presented an alternate twist, a different approach to the matter. Or so I thought!

i think we have a communication problem.

    Anyway, i second you!
me again, with my nerve wrecking correcting comments, these statistics, how were they gathered? how did they know that bloggers are females? names? but u said it urself, even cars have girls names!
These are statistics collected from Qwaider Planet, I know the identities because it's very obvious. :)
They were gathered (as stated above) over the course of almost 4 months, taking into consideration one million hits. I collected the top 5 of each. (male vs female) and that was the result

Ya Ahla oo sahla bil skeptics!
