I was going some very dramatic and interesting results for user patterns and discovered something that I knew all along but now I have the statistics to prove it. Female bloggers get 72.5% more the traffic of male bloggers! But that's not all

So according to my modest statistics of around 1 million hits collected over the course of 5 months. The statistics show certain interesting patterns.

First, women seem to attract more traffic, it has nothing to do with the content at all. names that sound feminine seem to attract more audience. I'm going to attempt to analyze the audience a little bit more but, for all practical purposes we can consider it a 50/50 audience male vs female.

Turns out, women not only attract more hits, but they have more people referring to some of their articles. Which is a little bit weird if you ask me, but apparently it happens a lot.

And finally direct hits are also consistent with the findings above, People seem to almost "memorize" or (add to favorite) more female blogs than male blogs. Coincidence? I think not

To sum up, I can clearly see now why the car industry has gone with female names for most of the cars. It's jut the fact that female cars seem to attract more people and from both genders.

And this blog is going to officially be renamed to "Daughters of thought" instead of "Memories Documented" (just kidding, I'm not changing it)

Lets not get into this debate, But I can assure you that 90% of the traffid to chicks blogs are males, and guess why? Because they think she is smart? No because they want to have some kind of conversation with someone from the opposite sex..
If you want to do an experiment ask some girls to put some ugly pictures in their profiles and watch the decrease in traffic..I don't know about you but I think that this is how god created us as human beings...

not convinced .. it's not about the name , most of them use small sentence can be use by both male and female , i see that female posts are more interested than male's post,

وبعدين لما تترك تعليق عند صبية بترد عليه ,أو على الأقل بترجع بتزور البلوج عندك حتى لو ما تركت تعليق او ما عجبها البلوج , بس الشباب , حتى ما بعبرك ولا برد على التعليق و بتلاحظ انه برد على تعليقات الصبايا اكتر ولا بتعب حالو و يمر يشوف شو كاتب انته , طبعا نسبة منيحة و لا تشمل الجميع ,

But how is this related to the article posted on Qwaider Planet?? I would agree and understand that in the case of direct hits. And actually Referrers value above sort of confirm what you just said, but hits is that pure measure based on what you see is what you click.

Earthway, females seem to still attract more traffic!

Seriously, the first blog I have ever read was "Memories Documented," and it is still the only one I can't miss. Regarding the other blogs, I seriously do not pick a specific one to read. I usually get attracted to titles of posts that link through QP, and then if the person posts a couple of interesting posts, I start visiting their blog more frequent, and then if i feel it is a must read blog I add it to my favorites. Anyways, the name of the blog is not what attracts me, rather the title of posts.
by the way, a true word to be said: Mr. Q, you really have been doing a great job maintaining this blog and keeping it lively. You just have something to say about everything. That is what makes it a must read, at least for me, and I guess other reader here will agree with me ;))

Interesting! I agree with Maioush! I think -too- that it's cuz females have blogs more than males. As for me, I check so many blogs during the day...mainly because I have a lot of free time :) And I guess many females are like me...

Intresting topic Q i was gonna talk abt it but lacked the stats so i was gonna talk abt me ...

in my blogroll i have more female bloggers than male bloggers ... and it is not because i think under the belt that much or i want to get to know some girls ... no

its plain and simple ... female bloggers are better ... especially Arab Female Bloggers ... why ??

because its their steam blower ... finally a chance for women to speak up their minds and actually be listened to ... they value their blogs more and pay much more attention to it than men and that what makes the difference ... i actually can't find alot of good male blogs (and not bloggers u r awesome) unless the mentioned above are expats or really really have something to say ... other than that you cant be attracted to male blogs.

i noticed this thing like 2 months ago ,,, but i couldnt talk without stats and now when they're out i can present my case ...

For myself I have on my RSS reader; 8 males' blogs and 5 females' blogs.
It is not easy to tell the reason behind this, but maybe the content has some effect, maybe females are more active in commenting as Qabbani said.

It needs some mining :)

The reason I took the top 5 was to eliminate the "numbers" game. But it didn't make any difference. Women attract more visitors.

I do agree that many women find it as their "oxygen", it gives the a voice. And I think this is very helpful for all

That is a possibility, however, taken click per click. Female win by a big margin. It might be that they're more selective with their titles.

Maybe females are, but I doubt that applies to all. I think if you pay close attention you'll find couple of male bloggers commenting almost everywhere... do you know who?

It's good I think to understand the patterns. So frankly, if I want to start an online magazine, I will call it something feminine.. Like Eve, or Softa, or La Femme :), Or follow the car trends.. Altima, Maxima, Corolla ...etc

Actually, the Harvard professor who suggested that came under so much heat as that comment was regarded as extremely sexist.
I don't think it's true, I think both are equally talented in all disciplines. People might have an affinity to a specific topic. But I believe either is proficient more than the other

These are statistics collected from Qwaider Planet, I know the identities because it's very obvious. :)
They were gathered (as stated above) over the course of almost 4 months, taking into consideration one million hits. I collected the top 5 of each. (male vs female) and that was the result
