So yeah, I've been putting off doing my tax return till the last day because ... I HATE IT! I hate everything about that stupid tax. What's worse is that this is all going in support of some idiot's idea of spreading freedom, and for $600/pizza slice in the super inflated belly of Halley Burton.

    us

I am officially upset, frustrated and depressed! Oh and very very mad!

Today, I had to pay upward of 3k because my tax withholding were not that high. I am furious! On top of ALL THAT CASH they deduct from every paycheck (more than 35% goes to Uncle Sam) In addition to medicare and other organizations that live off of my tax dollars!

If anything this makes life here barely worth it. Compared to people paying virtually no Tax the larger income is completely offsetted by these insane taxes

Get this, someone discovered that people were paying long distance Tax for a law that was instated in 1898 that's 109 YEARS of people paying extra tax that NO ONE KNOWS where it's going. Until someone caught it up and now they want to refund only the last THREE years! As a one time credit!

Come on, give me a break! 100 year old WRONG tax!? What else is hidden in all those taxes?! Maybe where they are GOING? or their AMOUNT because it's INSANELY TOO HIGH?

The amount I had to pay today, would have been enough to pay for a gorgeous 55" LCD TV that I've been looking at and not touching. If only I knew uncle Sam had better plans for me.

Three mothers in this life are certain, Death, Taxes and MORE Taxes. I guess there are also three mothers that you never mess with either. Your mother in-law, Mother nature and the Mother F'ing IRS

    Memories....

well i have to say the first time i heard there is such a thing as "tax-day" i thought it was a joke...
Good luck ! take a deep breath and remember it will be all over soon enough : )
hehe funny that you would say that TAXES will be abolished
here is an interesting fact .... income tax (which is what ur talking about here) is unconstitutional
there is no law or statement that forces an individual to pay tax on the money he earns .... there is even a couple of law suites that were won and they didn't have to pay their taxes :)

So yeah ..... too bad that they decreed that no more such lawsuit can be brought to court regarding the income tax income
its kinda easier to hire an attorney to handle it, these lawyers/accountants definitely earn their money better than having to fill out all those damn forms (501 ? )
    ENJOY

I did my taxes a couple weeks ago because I had family coming in for a visit and I didn't want to leave it until the last minute.

Fortunately, I got money back this year, which is more than I can say about all the years I owned my own business in the States.

Dude, you need to get married and have a bunch of kids...then they'll end up giving you a refund.

I too had plans for my refund that was not to be.  Was hoping to put a sizeable down payment on a new car I've been eyeing for a few months.  I didn't want to get behind the wheel for a drive and I am glad I didn't....all those plans went out the window (or rather the IRS) when I entered my W2 info into TurboTax.  All I have to say is:  !@!*$#&^#@*(&*(%#@#(*@#&(*&

And the $30 phone credit, they're probably going to tax you for that too!
    Poor Q … You’re MAAAAAAAAAAAD …
Probably few years from new I’ll start complaining just like you guys, for the time being, I’m like you when you first came, they pay back :D.. I got some money back and I treated myself with it :D LOOOOOOL (well not all of it, I still have some) . I know you HATE ME SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH  right now hehehe, but as I said, I guess I’ll start complaining few years from now (unless my uncle keeps working where he is working now (you hate me even more now I know) LOOOOOOOOOL ;) ) …

I hate bureaucracy… come and work here in the UAE, salaries’ inflation right now is so ridiculous it’s kinda funny! Plus, uncle Sam will waver your tax “obligations” to your OH SO GREAT AMERICAN STATES OF FREEDOM & EQUALITY :P
Get someone else to do it for you :D

Did you fill it online this year?

I've read somewhere (a conspiracy website or something) that paying taxes to the IRS is not legal and the IRS itself does not have the legal capactiy to force you to pay taxes.

Even the IRS wiki article mentions something like that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_Revenue_Service

    Aghhhh..
I did my taxed over a month ago. I get refund because I pay for courses at the University. It is the only way I can get money back. If  I didn't than I would be owing or not getting back much at all! So school sucks but I get over half of it back in taxes! :D
I hate working and making all this money and they take taxes from me, and than take more taxes from me.. :(
    Lammoush
    It's no Joke, it's very traumatic :(
    Tamara
Taxes will never be over :'( they keep coming back every-week, and every year!
    Bambam
One day, they will. Along with Income. When every human is able to get everything he wants for free
    Hmmm .. Enough dreaming
IRS has the ability to revoke some one's citizenship for not paying taxes. I don't want to even test their patience
    Afaf
Yeah, everyone needs to do their taxes! It's a cosmological constant!
    Kinzi
Yeah... Maybe I should .... just not yet
    Dave
I only procrastinate because I hate doing it!
Lucky you ... some are not as lucky ... frankly, I can't remember the last time I had anything returned to me
    Sam
You JUST started!!!? You're very late! Oh self employed, you probably can manage to get an extension or something
    Luai
Did My mother hire you or something?! What's up with all this "You gotta get married" stuff :)
I got a measly $60 for my long distance refund. I am CERTAIN I made more than 60,000 in long distance calls over the past 8 years! In fact, there were months that I paid $1600 in Long distance calls alone
    Maioush
Yeah, I'm mad, sad and depressed. And I HATE YOU!
    S.n.
    Welcome back.
UAE, high salaries, no income tax ... :( It's really a huge nightmare .. not a dream
    Firas
I always have it done professionally at a CPA, it's too much stuff for me to handle and I'm really not an accountant.
I don't like to do Taxes online. I don't trust these software and what not. Besides, what I do is too complicated. Income, business, stocks, Mortgage, donations ...etc
    Rebellious Arab Girl
Just count your blessings, you got a refund... unlike moi!
Last time a Russian dude (CPA) did it for me, needless to say it was his easiest form ever :D

    Good luck with it
