Today was a nice day. I love any day that I wake up accomplish a bunch of things. And then retreat home and enjoy a quiet evening. But the highlight was..... It's CHEESE Day!
Not many people know this about me but I'm actually a cheese addict. I love all sort of cheeses and today, I was a kid at a candy-store.
So I got enough stash for couple of weeks, some Dulce Gorgonzola, Fontina, Gruyère, Kashkaval, and few others that I don't even know how to spell :)
Needless to say, my cheese drawer in the fridge is stuffed! And I couldn't be happier
So, today, did my laundry, took shirts to the dryclean, got shirts from dryclean, sent some stuff through the postal service and ... hmmm found Qdameh! Yes, قضامة. If you don't know what that is, it's salt roasted garbanzo beans, low fat, high protien, (and high sodium, but I love sodium) Best part is that Qdameh fills you up!
It's really amazing when I can find things like Qdameh in USA. It's just one of those pleasures that are taken for grated back home and just can't find them here. And out of no where, I find this store that sells it!
My friend decided to get a haircut, and me too. But the second a set foot in the hair dressing school, I changed my mind. I was not comfortable to surrendering my head to some students. So I decide to take a walk in the historical China town. Wasn't very eventful except for some lady who spent at least 25 minutes trying to park her car (in a fire-lane, so no parking allowed there)
25 minutes later, she came out of the car proud or embarrassed I don't know but she had a huge grin on her face! So I told her she can't park there. And she looked at me with a blank look on her face as WHAT! As if I was speaking Greek!
Anyway, after several attempts I used my pictionary skills to get the message through. She didn't understand a single word of English except. Thank you!
Turns out, she's Vietnamese and is going to that school to learn how to do nails. I mean she was drop dead gorgeous with amazingly long hair, tall, nicely dressed. hmmm what is she doing here? (this is a poor neighborhood)
Anyway... the rest of the day was uneventful, I spent it playing games... Somehow I still feel tired slaying all those elfs and Orcs.
I'm glad I'm done with this post since it's been open for over a day on my PC and I didn't even care to finish it.. but .. I'll let this one "dear diary" post go
Memories....
25 minutes parking the car in a FIRE LANE.. that’s exactly what I’m suffering from here in LA, you go to Chinatown for a visit.. I live in LA if 99% Chinese and other Asian.. imagine my life, now I know why I get speeding tickets??? :)
glad you enjoyed your day Q ;)
why did it take 25min to park...it is not like she was trying to parallel park, now that could take me a whole hour...gotta love orientals...there are so many of them, they just do not bother to learn english..:)
