Ahhhh, when I was 15, I used to watch these romantic black and white girly movies with the family that promises eternal love, and everlasting happiness and a huge bucket of pleasantries that makes many people smile, cry and think Oh, that is so sweet and awesome. I want to be like that and be the Cinderella of the castle, and the beauty in sleeping beauty and fair'n'lovely in the skin whitening commercial!

Then the sledge hammer of reality came smashing down on my bucket of pleasantries telling me, wake up fool! There's none of that in real life, it's all, "smoke and mirrors"

I don't know when or how the concept of "My one and only" and "Happily ever after" came to exist. For all I know most of the Educated, or "upper" classes of the civilized world either died of sexually transmitted diseases or had numerous extra marital "adventures" and looking at it from 10,000 feet high up. The world has never been that "exemplary".

Boys and girls, I have to break this to you but you know what? There's a better person for you right around the corner. You might be stuck with the decisions you made, or struggling with decisions you want to make but the truth of the matter is, There is no perfect match. You will never be with the "right" person. And no matter how much you love the person, you have hardly seen one billionth of the amount of men/women on the planet! (that's 1/1,000,000,000)

So, back to "The one and only". Do you think you're lucky enough to have met the 1 in a billion that is the perfect match out there? When you consider that your chances of getting struck by lightning is 1 in around 300 thousand. Odds are, you would be struck by lightning 3333 times before you find your 1 in a billion person. Dang, I'm still working on my first lightning bolt!

I guess the moral of the story is simple, but results are multifold, here are the top 10 things that we can conclude:

    1. You'll never be with the perfect match for you
    2. If one goes away, there are 999,999,999 left
    3. "The one and only" is a choice.
    4. "The one and only" is variable. Like Mr Universe, one needs to be voted in every year
    5. Since this IS a contest, make sure you appeal not only to the one you're with, but for the other 999,999,999, to keep the one you're with "feeling lucky and grateful". And enhance your odds if they do go away.
    6. Don't be too hasty in making decisions, you might miss out on the other 999,999,999 or the perfect match right around the corner
    7. Don't give up on the "good" match you have, there are 999,999,999 others that might be interested in them
    8. You have to win EVERY YEAR, EVERY MONTH, EVERY WEEK, EVERY DAY, even EVERY HOUR to keep your "One and only" title. It's just like working out, it's a lot of work, but if you want to keep the title, you need to sacrifice
    9. If you had not been struck by lightning yet, it's OK, you're one of the 3332 who will survive to talk about how hard it is to find a good match out there
    10. Content is an everlasting treasure

i got my 1 in a billion as well, ...well he does have his faults, like his recent obsession with moving to the mideast, once this phase is over he will be back to his almost perfect oldself... but what makes a person 1 in a billion is the fact that their good traits(well the onese that are imporatant to u)outnumber their bad ones...since no body is perfect...
Ahhh ... the delusions of married women :)

No body is perfect, but I got the perfect one FOR ME, this is what matters! This is how I look at it! Some of your points are absolutly right, like the appealing contest, and winning every single year! It's not an easy task to keep love alive, but it's not impossible!
    ...... am still looking.
oh wait its more fun this way ....
    ENJOY

lol, they say that geting married is like being imprisonned, at least for men, but yet, i hamede and sam's responces, and they were like... COOL!!! They ARE delusional, aren't they??:P  JK!!
Looooooool, you reminded me of my kid sisters when I take them shopping, they insist on seeing all the stores and checking all the clothing items, and then after hours they want to go back to the first or second store to get that top ! they want to make sure they have seen every thing and what they ended up buying is the best there is ! I was once like that until I learned that there are great clothes out there but the ones that are right for me are not that many, so I seize the opportunity and don't waste a great chance for the dream of a better one ! and the more you know your self and people in the world the better you will get at detecting the right person for you, who will make you forget or ignore the fact that there are a billion others out there.

And hey, what about the possibility that the rest of man kind is even worse than the person you have !
No Tamara, 999,999,999 others, lets be accurate here :)

Josef, It is like that, only this one, you placed yourself into. (Sam is a She)
    LOL Bambam
Nido, looks like you joined the ranks of the delusional married people ... lah lah lah ya 7aram :) J/k
    heheheheh

ahhhhhhhhhhhh the delusions of a single guy! :)
Maybe ... maybe not .. :) There's a deeper wisdom there Ramroom, ahhh ... young one, you have a lot to learn :) --Says the wise (ergo single) man
Lol : ) listen a wise older woman, you say what you say because you have not met the right one for you. Serbians have a saying love is to stand on the crazy stone ( it makes more sense in Serbian) so we will see what you will post when you stand on the crazy stone : )
I fell and broke my neck! and now I'm the old wise man :)
Now on the "Right" thingie, do you think Two lefts would make one right?... I always wondered
A Universal fact (to counter your saying) is, "Married men live longer than single men, but more of them wish they died sooner"

:D This is so much fun
ahhh thoughts of a pessemist :p
the one isnt the perfect one, its the one u can be the YOU with
    Thank you Master Yoda
Dude I know that Sam is a She, "i got my 1 in a billion as well, ...well HE does have his faults"! notice the he when she speaks about he spouse!! :P Anyway, the got sucked into the hell of Marriage, and they're trying to suck us in, too!! They're like "WHY US?"!! :P JK

It is good thing, your understanding of another person will grow stronger if you take things slowly, ready or not here comes a whole new beginning this transition will go much easier if you face youe fears headon,go ahead and make this great leap, trust your heart, and follow wherever it might lead you.
