The place, a movie theatre in Amman
The Cast, a few bloggers from the Jo-bloggosphere
Ambiance, dark, adrenaline packed 8 abs forest with tons of gore, blood and flying limps
    Result, cataclysmic bad experience
Conclusion; It's not the movie.... It's the mindset, company and noise...
Remedy, learn the Art of Movie-Watching

    RE: Want my money back

Movie goers, would you accept my advice, as a huge fan of the silver screen, and a heavy movie goer (I watch 3+ movies in the theatres every week, and this is not bragging, this is a fact)

Going to the movies is an experience that you must embrace to the fullest to be able to appreciate it. You're paying a lot of money so you might as well get your money's worth.

Try to totally get immersed in the movie, being overly critical kills the mood. It's not about finding flaws in the story, it's about putting your mind on cruise control and allow your soul to drift as part of the excitement, and entertainment. Sometimes, you really need to check-your-mind-at-the-door along with your coat

The company you're with do have a tremendous effect on your mood, they really should enjoy their part of it, they need to show that by providing silence and respect to others who, "might" enjoy the movie, more or less. It's the experience. And anything that clouds it, or annoys it needs to stop and shush or be shushed. That's include those nagging cellphones and their bright screens

The more you get immersed, the more you enjoy the movie, the more you get your money's worth. At the end of the day, you decide how much of those 5JD ($10 over here) You're getting back.

I'm surprised how much people in Jordan are just not into these epic movies, or amazing scifi movies with a vision of the future, or even fantasies that totally obliterate reality and brings back the amazing art of story telling when people used to sit in old markets around the world, listening to story tellers for hours, close their eyes, and dream of flying with Aladdin on the magic carpet, or travelling the seas with Sindbad. It's all fiction. And many have paid to see it. Isn't that a good reason to attempt and enjoy it?

When did fiction become a negative thing because it's "too unbelievable"? Isn't that the whole idea to begin with? Isn't it too boning to watch a movie about real life, something too real might end up being way too predictable and inevitably boring. And those soft-porn chick flicks that play on ladies emotions; aren't these also extremely fictitious too? And Clooney, Pitt, or Mcconaghy are really not all that romantic with that ugly chick in real life and he'll only date a super model!

Now some movies are just really bad. So this might not apply to all. But some have really made fantastic strides to attempt to appeal to the masses. If the story is bad, look for other ways to enjoy the movie. The Cinematography, the sound track, the dialogue, the actors, the lighting. If all else fails, just stand up, protest by leaving the theatre, and ask the management for your money back. It's really your right

I'm grateful to my father for making a movie fan out of me. He was such a fan, for as along as he can remember. And made me inherit this appreciation to movies and how amazing it is to let go of your mind, and your fable life. Even for couple of hours. And just totally, and completely immerse yourself in the experience. That's what it is all about.

Going to the Cinema, is what entertainment is all about. There are very few forms of entertainment that people go out of their way to go to, to attempt to enjoy. And the reason for the success of Cinema or Movies is that it sets up the mood, takes you away from the comfort and familiar living room/couch that you're used to. And drops you in this vast darkness with only one bright light at the end of the tunnel, showing you visions you have never thought of, about actions and people who you will never see or meet. Doing amazing things just for one soul purpose. Entertain you like a prehistoric king or queen.

Isn't that worth every penny ... I for one, think so, and that's why I enjoy the experience more than most.

    Memories....

    I had this theory once

any movie ,,pick any movie and watch it ,lose yourself as u watch..no matter how bad that movie is,you'll end up having fun ..by just watching it

i used to do that..now..i am more like a critique..i look for loops and flaws i look for right and wrong..sometimes i even annoy myself

maybe watching too many movies made me this way

now in Amman ,going to the theatre with friends..will not give u the whole satisfaction as when u watch alone..comments and laughs..talking to each other..will take u out from the movie mood..i hate to be interrupted while watching..someone goes to the toilet..ah sho sar sho sar...ya salam

of course watching with others is enjoyable in comedies..

drama..crying..i leave it to more emotional females..

    cute actors..i look beyond that..

what u wrote is right..and i agree with u..that is the whole point..:D
