As many know I have this love-hate relationship with shopping. I just can't stop myself from being an impulsive shopper buying so many things that I either don't need, want or even care about in a few days. It's kind of like a marriage on the rocks. I love it, and yet I hate it at the same time

    abacus

So, my latest adventure took me to a Fossil store. It sells a brand of watches called "Abacus" which are smart watching employing a technology called SPOTS

The technology is awesome on it's own. My watch is able to sync with the atomic clocks without me having to do anything, and have day, time, timezone, timer, stopwatch ...yada yada yada (hmm, yeah so what's the big deal?)

Ever wanted to receive Instant messages on your watch? News, Horoscope, Quote of the day, Stocks, My appointments, Local events, Movies and what's playing favorite theatres. And best of all.... TRAFFIC information. You just can't believe how handy it is to glance at your watch to know if traffic is jammed ahead or not (and take corrective action, like taking a different route)

Sure you can get all these things from other devices, Phone, some active link enabled GPS devices .. etc. But the way they have all somehow converged inside my little watch is just fascinating. Hours of fun if you ask me.

Not only that but it has interchangeable software face plates they look awesome. And best part, you just configure them on the Internet and they get sent to your watch .. Pretty neat

Other features I didn't mention. Over the air firmware upgrade, Sports news, world time, weather and news, Calendar, Word of the day, Born on this day, This day in History ...

    Now comes the huge "BUT"...

WHY OH WHY does it have a wimpy 2 day standby time? With 6 hour charge time? This is the saddest/stupidest thing I've ever come across. God!

    WOW!! This is AWESOME!
Does it keep you warm at night....well you said it's like a rocky marriage.

Seems cool, but too tiny to read no

    And Hameded...HA HA HA HA
7aki fadi, I'm sure someone will find some perverted use for it. Since it has this leather layer right under the metal to make it comfy (I haven't seen this in any watch by the way)

The text is 3 lines high and quite readable at arms length.

Hamede, it's $179 so it will not break the bank. And it's water proof up to 3 ATM

I forgot to mention that I was fighting with the temptation to buy an XBOX 360 and a Zune. (I have ABSOLUTELY NO NEED for either) But I still had to fight with my demons
    LOL@ first comment

My God My God, forget about the 360. PS3 kicks its ass big time; we have one I got it for hubs for our 6th year anniversary, talk about REALLY breaking the bank. The Blu-Ray alone should make you buy it; I have seen little details in movies that I have never seen before.

So, since you are single (I am assuming) acquire as much shit as possible because the future wife will not let you she will be like, what about little Qwaiders education.

Now I am not your typical wife, I think God meant for me to be a guy but at the last minute changed his mind because I wanted the PS3 before hubs did and I like rude jokes and I find it easier to talk to guys than women. I just am a guy really.
And ZUNE? WHAT ARE YOU THINKING...tut tut tut ...Qwaider Qwaider.
7aki, talking to Guys more? That's very normal... that's what I expect. :)

Now PS3 and XBOX360... Ahhh the debate continues! This is will never be resolved. They're both great, Xbox has HD-DVD which is like BluRay only more standard. But it doesn't matter. XBOX really shines in online games. I decided to wait to get the R2 (supposed to be available end of April)
I played both, and both are extremely the same. So it doesn't explain why would I spend an extra 200$ to get very much the same.
Besides, I'm a huge Halo Fan ... the best game in History :) And can't wait for Halo3. So PS3 is out of the picture

The Zune is fantastic, in more ways than you can imagine. It's definitely way better than iPod. I don't follow hypes .. But that's only me! :) It's just too big. I already have Archos which kicks both iPod and Zune but not as popular
Bu Qwider, the player is an add on you have to purchase for 200 Canadian, it's not built in the 360.

As for Zune  vs. Ipod, I go for neither, I like to go for the Sony player, mind you I don't own one because I REALLY don't need it :)
I guess I am a Sony fan I guess, people tend to have brand loyalty, we owned ht PS2 so it makes more sense to buy the PS3.

I have a co-worker who has both, he loves both.
I'm no longer a Sony fan, I used to love them for walkman, I have so many of their top of the line old walkman cassette players. Back in the days. I hated them because of Memory Stick. I hated their cameras (although their good) Then I hated them for buying Ericsson. But I still love their phones.
See, I hate it when someone goes out of their way to be incompatible with the rest of the world. Sony and Cisco are like that.
Anyway, the cool thing about Xbox and PS3 is that they can both download and upload music from Zune/Ipod. Zune has a bigger, nicer screen with wireless connectivity and some nifty stuff. iPod has saturated the market already. But it's all good and exciting. A little competition is always good
