One of the weirdest things to explain to many. Is why do you need to get Circumcised. (we're talking Males here). Islam has kept that Ibrahamic tradition alive as has Judaism, and now finally the UN "approves it" and says to men: "You better cut it, Mister"

    cir

Even thinking about it is painful to any male. It's one of those really painful procedures but apparently, scientists have discovered that it is actually "a good thing" after all.

Islam, Judaism and other religions mandates it, while the practice has fallen off the radar for some, and many advocate that it's useless!

I remember 5 years ago, I was in a discussion on Seattle 93.3 FM radio station with some guy claiming that It was useless and that there is "nothing a little soap can't fix". But I guess, it's interesting to see that some people have taken this argument even further

Turns out, Circumcised men are 60% less likely to contract AIDS. Very compelling and even the UN is urging men to undergo the procedure

I red the report and was astonished to the finding. Could it be 100% accurate? I'm not sure. But why didn't they consider that the circumcised men are actually Muslims (nothing against Jews but they're still considered a minority). Anyway, Because they're Muslim they're practicing what the religion is telling them and that is no-extramarital-relationships and not homosexuality. And therefore their numbers are far less. Possible? Plausible? You be the judge

I think so too, since majority of the circumcised men are Muslims, follow either the religion or the culture, I guess based on that, the results will explain and match what you just mentioned.
There is nothing like a full-meal d***!!! I wouldn't get circumcision for anything!! :S [no offense anyone]
well im sure that they didnt come up with the results on circumcised men that didnt have sex, ofcourse they brought a nomber of circumcised men (muslim, jew or whatever) that are practicing sex and came up with the conclusing that "Circumcised men are 60% less likely to contract AIDS." so its be pretty Accurate
    You think?
Do you think few hundred years back if a research said, that 60% of all circumcised men were less prone to have roundworm. Would you draw a conclusion between the practice (circumcision) or their religion-forbidding-pork?
I tried to post before but it didnt work. I think the study does make sense because the extra meat of the uncircumsised men do catch more dirt, but it wouldnt matter if the person cleans better. I guess a better choice is wearing a condom rather than getting circumcised, even with 60% less likely to caught AIDs the percentage are still very high.

I have wrote a funny post about this before when I first started blogging: http://thearabobserver.blogspot.com/2006/05/product-of-nature-missing-piece.html

I just thought it was funny that the head of the UN world AIDS circumcision programme is Dr Kevin De Cock.
I didn't quite understand your point,
religions adovated against extramarital sex and that protects most against STDs
they recommend circumcision in Africa now because of sexual promoscuity there and the high rates of AIDS,  but if someone is really religious he wouldn't think of having an extramarital affair
    Observer:
Most modern doctors would say it's unnecessary. But now that it has been blessed by UN. That's a shift in the way many think
    Beti:
I don't want to anyone to Kevin De Cock me again! It was painful. I think :)
    Hareeeeeega:
I don't have a point buddy. there are a bunch of assumptions being made, and correlations and I'm just not quite sure that they make sense
And Yes, if someone is religious enough they wouldn't have extra marital affairs
