Reducing a relationship to so called Chemistry, is such a weird concept that I'm sure women invented. And men later on joined the band wagon and used it as a "Justifiable reason for not liking someone, or to dump someone"

The idea is that... there's a life to be built ... that life needs strong dedicated passionate people ... someone who just listens and follows my lead isn't going to help me at all build this life that I want for my future children

Chemistry is irrelevant... it's the worst thing that is used to influence and cloud your judgement......

You might get the "Chemistry", but lose everything else ... With disastrous results.

Chemistry by the way is a cover word for lust! Or "Would you sleep with this person", do you feel aroused by looking at them, do you feel "butterflies in your stomach" when you see them. It's just a cover up word, I didn't want to get even deeper. But Ladies, I'm sure you know what I mean.

From a male perspective... yes, it's true... We would want to do [it] with way more people than our minds, virtue, culture, religion, decency mandate. So Chemistry exist ALWAYS!.. But we know, it might not be the right thing to do... in fact, it might be the WORST thing to do following it .. is very dangerous

Chemistry is like any other recreational drug, mainly because, like any narcotic, you develop a tolerance for it ... and it grows more and more everyday ... eventually, people can't get enough of it and will seek it continuously, anywhere...

And that's why I hate it!

On a humorous note, I scored highest in Chemistry, physics and math way back when I was at school :)

Agree it's not enough to build a life..
Agree that it's too dangerous to follow..
Disagree that it means lust alone!!
When i felt it was there at times in my life it involved having a great attraction to the personality..mind and humour..and i wonder why they called it chemistry , it's not a H2 + o= H2o
equation..(where did u get that women invented that :P )
It is a great reaction for unknown reasons..

It's just another label for, I thought I like you but I really don't anymore.

Maybe a Chemist tried to explain it to someone and it stuck, maybe you should google the origin of this word, maybe I should.

Although the post wasn't humours (or was it) it made me laugh at "So Chemistry exist ALWAYS" very honest :) .

chemistry is not enough.. but when you have it all the respect, understanding and there's no chemistry or let's say there's no acceptance then it won't work too!

it's another word or way to express what we sometimes mean by saying 'if there's no click then drop the whole thing from the beginning'

It's hard to be with someone when there's no chemistry.. when you don't click! It shouldn't be the most important thing or the main base but well it is important!

When we women say there is no chemistry it simply means we are not attracted to the other person..How can one think of having a relation with somebody they can't stand let alone thinking of building a life together?? Am not saying that this all u need to do so, but it sure a good place to start..Attraction or "chemistry" is what will make u decide to pursue a relation or just forget about it..

Am a first time visitor at your blog, and you sure have a very busy one..

The idea is that men don't really have those impulses. Because for the most part, men approach women, not the other way around. So when approached you get the "chemistry" rush. And that's why it must have been a woman (a pretty darn smart one) who has invented this.

Men, followed the women's lead on this and started throwing that word every time they wanted to break up! Not cool ... Similar to "I love you, but I'm not 'IN LOVE' with you" bunch of bull if you ask me :)

Chemistry again! I think its a guy thing honestly, most women I know would be ready to have a relationship with a man who is not that good looking. because of his great personality and because he has what they are looking for in the father of their children. Most men I know on the other hand are looking for very beautiful women, and most are willing to give up brains and personality or compatibility for a model looking lady. Further more they try to steer clear of women who are their match in inelegance and in independence.

Dalia, I didn't say chemistry doesn't exist, I said, that having it as our only criteria to pick someone is not a good idea :)
In addition to chemistry, there should be the elements needed to build a future, or a lasting relationship.
