I know I've touched on this matter before, but giving it further thought. I think I cam to a realization that there is a certain liberating side to anonymity that gives people a certain needed edge. While the credibility suffers when posting or writing anonymously.
The minute you feel that a friend might read what you're writing ... you back off! If your mother, father, daughter, wife ... etc comes close to reading the articles that you've posted. You'd be in deep trouble.
The sad part is that many people pick up blogging because it's an escape from day to day reality. Especially for people from the Arab world where direct criticism of loved relatives, friends, loved ones can have explosive repercussions.
Then there is the "I did X" part where you might on the personal level be so proud of an accomplishment, yet you know the mentality of people around you to the point that you refrain from talking about it. You might only talk about the positive matters that will leave a positive image for you in people's eyes. But others, people would be very nervous not to talk of..
Another sad fact is that the more you gain popularity, the more people know you and recognize you and the freedom roof comes smashing down on your head so quick that you will start regretting this popularity.
I know many of the good bloggers that have secretly established hidden blogs where they get to jot down their inner most ideas, sometimes in such a cryptic way that even their own partners will have no clue if they happen to stumble upon it.
I'm not going to expose anyone here, to the contrary, I'm thinking of doing the very same thing. I do have a limited number of articles here, that are not published. But I think at some point I will go ahead and just do it ... who knows...
.... Something to think about till next article .... "Recognition as an attack mechanism"
Memories....

Rebellious Arab Girl:
You have got to pick a shorter name, I'm not gonna call you RAG
If I tell you, wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose? ;)
Smiles:
Many have already done that. I guess sometimes, it's the only way...
Faten#2:
Because sometimes you do have ideas that you want to talk about, and people you want to criticize, yet you don't want to start a fight!
