Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for women empowerment and equality and all the good stuff. What's really moderately upset with is the number of ladies that appear to go to work dressed up provocatively. How would someone feel if I came to work dressed in spandex shorts?

    p

I'm oftentimes faced with a awkward situation where a colleague or someone at work would come to work dressed so provocatively that they do get everyone attention. And mind you in a very negative way. Then they go all nuts talking about how men are staring at them in a filthy way and what not

I'm really against any type of harassment at work, male towards female or the less common female towards male, and I find this provocative way of dressing quite unappealing to me.

People are really free to dress up the way they like. But everyone should be a little bit considerate to other people's feelings. It really surprises me to see work places that mandate a no head scarf and uphold these rules religiously. While the ladies showing their back tattoos, tons of cleavage, extremely fat thighs and their g-strings are OK. Such a hypocritical world we live in!

I fail to understand the point of dressing in this manner. Is there something that people want to prove? Well, even if there were something to prove. The work place is really not the right place for that. And it most certainly not the right place to pick up people's attention to exposed private body parts and undergarments

Am I too old fashioned, Strict, or really backward thinking? Or am I really distracted and sometimes offended of the level of uncongeniality that some show. But I think next time I'm going to see someone with an ultra short skirt like that, I'm coming to work in my Speedo swim suit!

    Memories....

"How would someone feel if I came to work dressed in spandex shorts?"
    LOL
it says it all, :-))) brilliant.
i do agree with you qwiader, but I'm not in the mood to discuss why cause I'm sure girls will be upset :) nice one ;)
Any woman who dresses provocatively knows the effect of her way of dress. She really does it purposefully, especially when dressing in such manner to work or school. The thing is that some workplaces put dress codes, which include dressing appropriately for both men and women. However, it seems that you don’t have such rules at work, and therefore Mr. Q, get ready to wear your Speedo swim suit to work tomorrow! :)
I'm not happy to wear my speedo ... especially when it's so cold over here :(!
Actually, at work we have really good comprehensive rules for everything. And we take refresher training every few months. But for some reason, ladies dressing scantly doesn't register on their radar!

they have no headscarf rules in some places in the US :O
"Am I too old fashioned, Strict, or really backward thinking?"
    yes, yes, yes...

there are studies done on the subject proving that these practices make males' brains work better. and that is the only reason I do not objecting to such dress tastes.
Well like president Bill Clinton said: if you got it show it. And it applies to both males are females. Actually he did not say that in public but I am sure he was thinking about it.
lol! yeah i agree! sometimes i just wish to go 2 some ppl at work or even back in uni and tell them this is a work place/uni and its 10am so yes that means ur not on a wedding party!
How would someone feel if I came to work dressed in spandex shorts?

    Everyone would feel horrified.

How about you showing up at work in a mini skirt? :) That would surely turn some heads!
    Totally agree!
Dress codes should be in people's heads, it's common sence.
And IF a woman decides to wear obsene/revealing..etc clothes..then she's asking for it..& most probably enjoying the stares!
Eltapatio can you please give me a reference to the study which claims males' brains work better in the presence of females' short skirt. I do agree that other organs function better but not the barin, I can assure you.

I totally agree with you, I think it's the same as in uni, those who dress like that want attention, the last think they think about when they show up in a university or a workplace is the work they should be doing.
    Laila,
I'm sure someone was harassed because of it somewhere in the US
    eltapatio
I KNEW it. I knew someone did a study and now there is a legitimate reason for us to DEMAND women to wear mini-skirts to work! After all, all we're trying to do is increase our productivity.
(oh and on the whisper, it's done)
    AbuShakuush,
Vote Democrat! Yes, Absolutely ... Show me the money! OUTSIDE of work
    Lammoush
Yes, exactly, that's totally it. it's 10 AM for god's sake and if there is anything that I would to think about is how to down my next cup of coffee to help me wake up
    Sari,
    Yes, that's right ;-)
    Beti,
It would turn more than just a few heads!

Welcome :) and thank you for your visit. Please feel free to come back often.
And absolutely, dress code should be a no brainer. Anyone crossing the line is asking for it
    Batir
Totally, 100% with you. In fact, there are numerous studies that shows that these other organs cause the brain to stop functioning!
    OmAr
It's always like that. Attention ... attention .. attention! As if popularity is a contest or something!
يعني اللي بتلبس هيك و الزلمة اللي قدامها  ما تأثر بتكون وحدة من اثنين:

    يا إما فيها ايشي غلط

    او الزلمة في ايشي غلط

    !
    qwaider
thanks for taking care of the whisper.

In one recent study, a team of researchers at Emory University had 28 men and women look at erotic photographs while an M.R.I. took snapshots of their brains. A pattern immediately emerged. The photographs set off a frenzy of brain activity, particularly in the amygdalae of men. Yet the two groups reported equal arousal most of the time.

One study isn't enough besides it probably doesn't cover all demographics. And really, I do feel distracted because I fight these male urges, since I pride myself on being able to resist it.
I'm sure many people like me feel the same way
Of course there will be a frenzy of activities in the brain of men. No need for a study to do tha. The question is what certain function in brain wittness this frenzy? I am sure not the ones related to intellectual functions.
They are not trying to prove anything Qwaider .. I think its a matter of getting attention ..
and the scene where such people "showing  most of their body parts to other" complain about how others are staring at them is pathetic , because they have asked for it .. especially  here in our society ..
