lets do [head]shots

So yesterday, was an interesting day for me and a turning point in general from occasional photography, to a little bit more serious subject. A young actor, contacted me and wanted to pause for me to do some head-shots for him, nothing fancy just enough to fill up his portfolio

Frankly I was excited and petrified. These would be the first head-shots of an actor. I did make couple for a struggling actress and despite the good results I got. She didn't show up to collect them!! So it kinda shook my self confidence level a bit..

This time, someone in the movie making business recommended me! (wow!) So, I went there, with all my gear, passed by the Masonic temple (yes first time I pass by one) and into the Carnegie library building. It was such a beautiful old building and I would love to have a chance to photograph it some more...

This beautiful historic building has been restored and converted to couple of things. The headquarters for a film company and a fancy restaurant. Dress code strictly enforced and the owners don't do it for the money, but rather enjoy and take pride in what they do.

The inside is even better looking, with old oak and real hardwood floors. It's just gorgeous!

So I started photographing my subject, and got some pretty results... I just hope they'll like the head-shots ... I'm so worried

Here's another thing I didn't know about you: you're a talented photographer! They look very professional. I don't know if he'd be complimented or not, but he totally looks like "grizzly adams" in the first shot. (I mean it as a compliment, really)

Good luck with your coming pictures, I've always LOVED photography but never knew where to start from :) yalla maybe you could teach me :)

Qwaider, I'm sorry man, no sugar coating here, these shots are not very good. I mean the man is pink in the first two. White balance is inconsistent and lighting is bland and there are many technical issues that could be push in the right direction with post processing.

The composition in the third photo is let down by the hesitant and uncertain cropping of the head. Still that one is my favorite.
