had another one of the horrible experiences tonight going to one of my favorite places in Amman, Books @ Cafe.

    Updated

Not only has the rude manager redefined the word "Bad service" in my book. He did it with a stupid smile on his face.

I'm not going to pardon them this time. Not only is their menu extremely limited to junk food, more junk food and even worse food, but they also charge astronomical prices for this junk

For example, a drip American coffee mug, would be worth $1.09 at Starbucks is 2.2JD that's a whopping $3 for a freakin cup of stale drip coffee! Give me a break

When I complained about the Wireless Internet not working, I got the it must be your laptop, or worse. I suggested that since the first service is down, if I can use the second one (they have two networks one for the cafe that is free till 6PM) and they said Absolutely NOT. WTF! The service is down, and they wouldn't take the least steps to make sure it goes up again, or assure me that there is someone working on it. I even called Wanadoo and they said, that that access point is not registering on their system, suggesting that someone might have unplugged the Access point from the router. But I don't want to go that far.

    Update

It's enough that a cafe in Jordan doesn't offer Turkish coffee on the fear of being classified as "local" well, excuse me, your service is worse than local!

I'm not talking about the poor waiters who were more than fantastic, I am talking about the rude arrogant management that really needs to get a reality check. Being a success at some point doesn't guarantee continued success.

    /Updated

Anyway, I think that's the last time I step foot in that rat hole, nice or not .. there are plenty of places in Jordan that offer Wifi access and I'm just going to take my business elsewhere!

well, they have the best chicken dish in jordan. chicken chunks! and I always get free stuff on the house, besides I could care less about coffee or wireless there, it's a place to gather with your friends and get drunk! cheers!
Go ahead, enjoy ... get drunk...
Buy the way, they have nothing that tastes good. And excuse me moey for not trusting your taste-buds when you are drunk :)
    Cheers!
another satisfied customer, well let me tell ya this incident my friend, I went to an arabic food restaurant in the USA and they had the worst hummos on planet earth, I kinda complained by saying that the hummos that is sold at the Safeway across the street taste better, then that little piece of shit how works there said: oh, yeah, why do not you go and get it from there next time! WTF.
People really need to understand how to deal with customers, If I at whatever cafe in the US, they would have bent over backwards for me to be satisfied, and assure my continued business
Anyway, I'm so glad there are plenty of alternatives ...
