I sip my coffee slowly ...

I sip my coffee slowly
Looking at empty spaces
Wishing the time stood still
As I feel the heartbeats of a close by lovers
They’re cheeks were flashing red
Their smiles bright and promising
Their eyes sparking with the future
And their hand locked in destiny
They look at the future
They hope for dreams
They giggle of joy,
Oblivious of what could be
Time stood still
As I recall days, when
I was them
My eyes sparkled with joy
And my dreams were reaching the skies
I look back and sigh
I close my eyes
And dreams still flash strong
Hardly as bright as before
The beauty of the days
Changed
The hope… dimmed
And the future.. is still waiting
I go back to my cup
Getting cold …
But the warmth kindled
Will linger behind
