As the Airbus A320 touched down in Queen Alia International airport, a quick rush of adrenaline with it’s minor side effects of dilated pupils and elevated heartbeats, and short of breath

No I’m not talking about being afraid, but rather about the excitement of feeling that your feet are finally safe, on the ground but most importantly, Home.

I enjoyed every bit of the flight, even the “extra crispy” search I had to undergo since I was –yet again- “Randomly” selected. Anyway, it all went well, and I had the pleasure of the company of a bright young redhead (hi Mona) in seat 11F next to my 11G. Needless to say, we kept each other company and we talked, agreed, disagreed, fought, then agreed aain …. [fill in you favorite conversational act here]

Here comes the nasty details. While I was smiling to the officer, and gave my passport, I started getting worried when it him longer than I expected. Oh and new for this year. Thumb print readers (didn’t do one for me) and A little Camera. Pretty cool, if everything worked right
Anyway, soon came the dreadful words. Please sit down for a little bit.
I entered the “waiting” area, to find. 3 young men on the left bench, apparently tried to illegally enter the country.

On the bench next to me,  a couple, American/Palestinian/Jordanians. With their little baby.  She couldn’t be older than 6 months. Being held up for an expired passport.
Almost everyone on the plane was out while I was still waiting. I would say less than 45 minutes.  Then came a handsome looking policeman,  and asked me if I’ve been to the GID “General intelligence Directorate”.  And told me –nicely- to go pay them a visit in few days once I’m rested and all.

Frankly, that pissed me off. But since I have nothing to worry about (I hope). I’m going to go and see what’s up.

    The adventure continues …

Ahlan, ahlan!!! You're here!!! May you be stuffed not only with food, but with the sights and sounds of people you have missed. I was praying for you and your visit this morning, that God would richly bless you.

I have to confess...this last trip I took I couldn't get the flight times right on Lufthansa and flew RJ!!! It was great! Except for the flight attendent only attending to the handsome basketball team, it was great...go RJ!
