Cool! I download Windows Vista from microsoft's webpage and it says I have to burn it on a cd..I did but it didn't work *sobs*

They are pretty cool looking. My favorite is the black one, though it sort of looks like the OS Tiger box don't you think?

OH MY GOD ROBA ... Look at my comment 8 Seconds before yours!
That black one is the Ultimate edition, it comes with windows Media center (You can run your TV, capture all your shows and play them back with Digital Video Recorder) And a huge amount of cool looking features.
Can't wait to get one :) But they're priced between 100 to 400 At Amazon :S pricey!

Maybe that is one of the side goals, but spending $2 billion in R&D only for the Aesthetics? Naah ... I don't think so!
What I love is the new security features! THEY ROCK! (and get in the way sometimes) but seriously, the features are amazing. Malicious code detection at the kernel level!
And hear this, NATIVE x64 support! I wanna see what my x64 baby can do :). Should be screaming fast (although the betas weren't that fast but that was not optimized code)

Saned, the look & feel of vista is a combination of Mac, KDE 3.5, and Project Looking Glass 3D from Sun Microsystems.

Qwaider, "Malicious code detection at the kernel level!" ... finally, after 10s of years unix & linux doing it.. so shall we expect Windows Security threat warnings appearing on IE uploaded Trojan threats instead of appearing on viry secure applications like JVM and OC4J.

El 7amdella they understood some Open Source code, 1st Mozilla tabs in IE and now this and LG3D & KDE effects (mostly transperancy & 3D transperrancy, I dont think they benifited of something else).

400$!
No way me buying it, and no way to buy something that says "Home" again!

seems i shall be managing to get a Linux distro to primary for me, and may be a pirat copy of Win 2003 server.

For those comparing Vista to other operating systems, you're exactly right. Microsoft is playing a bit of catch up in order to keep up with other software innovations that happened to materialize during Microsoft's "cocky period". Microsoft had been so used to creating the standard that they failed to realize that the people were tired of Microsoft's standard (i.e. Firefox, anyone?). Now it looks like Microsoft is finally making progress. Time will tell what the end result will be.
