I consider myself one of the few (they are few, trust me, and decreasing every generation) lucky kids out there who had got the chance to learn good Arabic. I'm sorry, but your post had no subtle point, except for the 'Eejaaz' or 'Balaagha' part. The rest is widely negotiable or even nave to begin with, still I appreciate your expressed gheera 3ala al-lugha al-umm. :P
Anyway, I'm really sad for Arabic, I know that this goes beyond school and formal education, it's worse than just that, although this is the worst threat to its future. I know I'm losing Arabic day by day, for lack of practice and exposure. And what sucks most is that I can't think of a solution to the matter, and choose oblivion over acting towards it. I simply don't see how this would ever help.
More on Arabic and languages later ... I had a lot to say, when that issue was first triggered by other JP bloggers. Still I refrain for the lack of clear thought towards the issue. Guess your post and Wael's kind of broke my silence. :P
BTW mate, sorry but your Arabic sucks! :O
My Arabic is not in the balance here, you could have showed your skills by simply responding in Arabic. I suffer a lot while writing in Arabic mainly because, I don't have an arabic Keyboard and I literally have to fish for the letter, so a post like this takes me hours to finish.
Finally, I'm really ashamed of my self that you think my Arabic sucks. I'm trying to improve, and I don't claim to be Al Mutanabbi, I am, just like you, one of the last generations who actually studied good Arabic and hopefully I'll manage to keep improving

WOW! You don't have an Arabic keyboard? Must really suck, shows how much devotion you have! Impressive! I suggest that you either get stickers or buy an Arabic keyboard from here (Or probably you might be lucky enough to find one on eBay ;) ). You don't have to suffer all that much, it's crazy! :O
As for your suggestion that I should have responded in Arabic, well, no thanks! :P Obviously the reason is: I can't type in Arabic for shit! :( Though maybe I should be ashamed of myself seeing how much you would suffer to type. :P

No, I have not forgotten that, In fact, Farsi and Aramaic are sister languages to Arabic, same goes for a number of languages close to the Arabic regions. Arabic was affected AND affected these languages (actually, I think Aramaic is the mother of the Arabic and Hebrew languages). Anyway, back to the point, Arabic is one of the most developed languages in the world. It has affected other languages to the point that there is actually no Farsi script or Urdu for example, they use Arabic script to write their languages. (Same applies to Kurdish and formerly Turkish)
Anyway, the point is, Arabic has borrowed from other languages, and has lent more, maybe way more back to them.
