How to make your blog popular

If you're an Arab or Jordanian blogger, here are a few tips to help you promote your blog. Better yet, will gain you the respect of so many international organizations, and will probably be featured in a magazine or two.

Just let it go to your head, and make you think you're the best thing since sliced bread. Your views will become the law, your opinions the bible and everything you say revealed from the divine. No matter how shallow you might be.

The way to do it is simple, pick one of the following subjects:

Female circumcision.
Deprived, young, hot, Arab women, teenagers, housewives
Dating in the Arab world
Hating Arabs, Muslims, Country, Government, people
Arab Gays, Lesbians and Homosexuality.
Arab racism
Christian Hate
Jew hate
Muslim hate
Arab Terrorism
Islamic Terrorism, fundamentalism, fascism, extremism
Arab feminism
Arab Women's rights
Veil.
Women oppression
Arab Israeli conflict
American foreign policies (Iraq, Afghanistan...etc)
Call/Don't call for Jihad

Once you're done, just sit back, relax and watch the search engines do the rest. Then leave it to Global voices and other bodies to get you featured on their sites. Later on people start Quoting you as "Arab Expert" (although you have no degree in sociology, or in anything for that matter, you also have no experience, or old enough, or have experienced what you're talking about)

Or you can create with a bunch of your friends, a professional looking website where you collect "word" from all of them and present it to your viewers. You may also have your buddy support system add links to your pearls of wisdom

Then once that happens, let it go to your head, and if anyone happens to dare question you, you can patronize them with one of the following responses

You don't know me.
Do not judge me.
Do not generalize.
So typical of you (Arab, Men, Women, Heterosexuals, foreigner, expatriate, young, old, close minded, Shiite, Sunni, Jordanian, Palestinian, Christian, Muslim, Jew ...yada yada yada)
How dare you.
What makes you think you .....
That's rude
You have no right
you have no idea
You are way off topic
This is my personal view
This is my opinion
This is how I see it
This is the truth
This is a fact

Then if that doesn't work, research anyone who argues with you and start attacking the person directly in a childish way.

When someone corners you, proves everything you say is wrong and bullshit you can:

Ban them
Use the "It's My Blog" ultimatum
Tell them they're ignorant
Tell them their responses "Amuse you"
Tell them it's "funny" to read their reaction

The fact of the matter is simple,

If you have a Blog, you are NOT:

A news Agency
A trust worthy source
An Expert
Qualified critic
Credible
Journalist

Once you state your opinions they become:

Public domain
People can have opinions about your opinions
People can have opinions about you
People have the right to criticise you
People have the right to criticise your opinion

You may want to limit the responses to the ones that you like, but that harms your:

Credibility
Professionalism
Trustworthiness

I hear you,arabs find it exciting to talk about these issues because we're not used to it.yet when they use false logic and misconceptions and refuse to hear (what they think is chockingly traditional)the basic truth,they use words like you mentioned plus : we won't bury our heads in the sand..which really irritates me!!
One thing i didn't like about the post..the pic!
using one form of appearance when mocking what is very shallow and ignorant could be offensive.
All of us should embrase another level of disagreeing,simple!

Problem is, I found out that the majority are either Islamic fanatics or completely against Islam, and I don't know why ??

I still like reading personal blogs, though im not good at writing personal stuff :)

well, i dont know why i dont have visitors anymore like before,, since i went to tashkent.. so i guess if you stayed up to date with your blog and comment on other's blog you will have traffic..
P.S. i will think of the topic lesbians lol cuz it seems they are everywhere these days! :/

Most bloggers are just normal people like you and me who are looking for an outlet to their thoughts and feelings and sometimes they have a personal or a public mission. It is just a way to express ones mind and let feelings out. A blogger is not a trained journalist . A blogger should not expect to be a savior of any political, religious, environmental, social or whatever cause s/he is trying to discuss on their blog. The world will not be saved or doomed because of ones personal poinions or thoughts. Blogging is just a way of expression.
There are many uses for blogging, it all depends on what you want out of it. If high traffic is what you aim for, then I guess one should follow your advice! If your aim is just to write to satisfy the writer in you and have an outlet to your feelings and thoughts, but also expect to be read sometimes by strangers, then be it. One should not take blogging so seriously, it is just like keeping a journal or a diary, nice to have and read after few years. A record of personal history you once lived, tells you about how you felt back then and your state of mind at that time, and what was going on in your life at that time...so you can reflect, discard or treasure.
You cannot make fun of people’s blogging and expect to be praised for it! Do not lash back at me now!

I cant agree with you more! Ive seen so many of those mentioned bloggers that im starting to lose faith in the blogging world. :( they think freedom of speech and expression applies only to themselves and those who agree with them.

Hehe! You forgot something, when they say,’re-read what I wrote, because you obviously missed my point...'

Well like everything that happens frequently in life, it becomes a stereotype. I am a quiet girl in real life, and a very shy person, my blog is my place where I let it all out... I don't know about other blogs, but I like to view my blog as my own personal space, and I am not perfect, but I don't see why I should be judged for not being perfect, my personal perceptive on life or my opinions... my blog is for me, not for others, but they r welcome to comment on my opinions, but this does not mean that I have to put my readers in mind everytime I post something, because what is blogging if not a personal journey in our own minds so that we discover what daily life puts to sleep? I don't blog to makre friends, I blog to find out who i am... it's just a diary to me.

I wouldn't charaterize the views that I'm presenting as-- so much dissimilar from yours, I think that I'm a little more reserved, circumspect, cagey...if you well, or whatever you want to call it. Nevertheless, I enjoy reading you and commenting on your blog but if it bothers you in any way just let me know and I'll peacefully withdraw without any fuss.I'm just a regular guy and I really don't want any body getting mad at me, and I have no interest in provoking any one or be controversial in any way shape or form.If you feel that I'm getting snippy please accept my apologies, I'm not here to start no trouble I'm here to present a different point of view, that is all.
