We love our ignorance!

It's almost OK if you see a person with limited mental capacity, and not that much of an education, and very little interest in reading or exploring that accepts all sort of rubbish science and all sort of metaphysical nonsense. We expect that, and we see that, and most likely we don't care about it.

What hurts, is when educated people fall in the same trap. Believing in negative energies, and other crap science items that defy logic, science and even common sense. Worse, they promote it... Even worse? They are actually willing to fight for the stupid concepts that wouldn't stand a chance in the court of science.

Just slap the term "Subhan Allah" to ANYTHING, and people will believe you! Say Allahu Akbar and Muslims will sheepishly follow whatever junk you send and worse they will spread it!

I don't know what makes people think and behave like this. But I am very disappointed in our educated masses who readily dismiss all their knowledge, education and common sense and believe whatever junk people send them. Just because it ws a tainted in religious colors.

That's why I love Cosmos! Neil Degrass Tyson does a fantastic job of deconstructing these myths and legends, facing them head on unbashful. He isn't following the rout of people like Richard Dawkings. He's trying to help people distinguish between science, knowledge, common sense and everything that doesn't belong in the science world. Mainly, religion.

Don't think that I'm Anti-religion in any way. I'm a religious person and I have the fear of the lord in me. But on the same note, I understand that science is the physical world, the empirical evidence, the proved or even plausible theory is what the world is made of. Not myth and legends. Science isn't someone's "story", it's what really happens.
