It's been 11 years since the last time I enjoyed Ramadan in Jordan. The experience is out of this world. It made me remember all my years of growing up in the Arab world and how it shaped my identity.

To be honest, I feel 10 years younger. Suddenly, I'm more alive and vibrant than ever. All because of this amazing Ramadani atmosphere!

I know, the streets are packed, the times are hard, the future is uncertain but for a few brief moments I close my eyes, and drift to the amazing times I had growing up and enjoying the Arab culture at its best. In the holy month of Ramadan.

Jordan has changed a lot since the last time I was here. There are Malls everywhere, there are new streets and new construction everywhere, coffee shops and cafe's appear to have spawned in the most unlikely locations. But the essence of this amazing city didn't change. It still permeates through the dust heavy cool summer breeze.

Amman is finally becoming the city of life that it was destined to be. Sure the streets are horrible and driving here is as hard as navigating a mine field. But it's still enjoyable and feels like nothing else on this planet!

Few short years ago, Jordan and Amman used to go to deep sleep around 8 PM. Everything closes. People stick to their homes and the streets become empty...

    That's no longer the case!

Amman now is vibrant, full of life and beaming with amazing joy. People are out and about. Locals! Not someone on vacation. Families enjoying the night life.

    Amazing...

Being with the family made it clear how much I'm missing. There's nothing on the face of this planet that has more flavor and joy than spending the evening with your family.

I was also lucky to connect again with my long lost friends. It's wonderful to spend time with people you love and friends you respect; 'Catching up'

I don't know how I've missed out on all of this, but I guess, I've been on a mission, and hopefully this mission will continue and the joy of being with the family will continue as well.

    Who knows, we'll see
