Five years in the age of the internet sound like a very long time. Even in the age of humans, imagine a five year old child. He is probably getting ready to go to school.
Five years is the age of this blog that has witnessed so much in this world, and so many things that it helped shape in me and in the world around me.
It's not like this blog changed the world or anything. But I look back at my self back then and now and I can barely recognize the old me.
I've made so many friends, and knew so many of you my lovely readers. One in particular became a lot more than a friend. She became the lady of my life.
As I welcome the sixth year in the life of this blog. I also welcome the challanges that life is throwing in my face as a husband and a father. As life keeps twisting and turning. As it grows more demanding of my time and my very existence. I find myself torn between all my duteys. Suddenly, things like this blog and other self indulging vihecles become too much to handle.
I really don't know where my time evapurates, between my work, research and my home I barely have time to sleep anymore. It's taking a toll on everything but I press on. With the power and faith that my family has in me. I press on. With the strengh that revives me everytime I feel weak, I press on... I have a lot on my shoulders and the only way I see is forward.
I'm missing a lot of things these days. From my favorite shows, to the comfort of a good book. From talking to old friends, to visiting my aging parents. I feel that I'm missing a lot. But I'm sure certain pieces I can make up for. I'm not sure about all the pieces. But I have to remain hopeful.
Hopefully, I still have what it takes to keep going on, and I hope that I will have the time to update this blog more frequently. Like you used to know.
I did a quick search and I was able to find more than 100,000 comments that I left during my "active years". That's a huge numbers. Some of the blogs I left my comments on no longer exist today. Or have changed names and owners. It amazes me that I was able to engage in all those discussions, making friends everywhere I go was something I really enjoyed. I have to say, I had a great experience.
Here's to great 5 years, and looking forward to another year where you will continue to find a piece of me, in the cyber world.
Yours
