How to commit social suicide

Social media, and social engineering are the new frontiers for people who are seeking to virally appeal to the masses. It helps people on small budgets have global reach way beyond their actual size.

Additionally, people can be as large as their dreams take them. Anyone can be an overnight hit, anyone can reach unprecedented levels of fame. Many enjoy these moments and spend the rest of their life savoring this "success".

But there are those who feel that the only way to stay in the lime light is to start fabricating news. Or picking up some imaginary friends (or enemies) and simply fighting these windmills, tirelessly!

For example, take the -once promising- ArabCrunch. Despite the big hype behind it and how it was going to change the world (for some), it barely brought anything note worthy. Other than something like the Yahoo-Maktoob deal. Possibly due to internal connections. But other than that, there was nothing important or even interesting that you couldn't find on other services like, say Startup Arabia.

The idea is, if you have a mediocre technology blog that is struggling to barely exist, make some news, or even perhaps the headlines of some yellow third class papers and you get your fame back.

    Or so some people think!

In fact, this is the fastest way to commit professional and social suicide. Most "logical" thinkers will look at you in pity and say, "poor soul, they lost their head".

Here's a funny idea, why would anyone "target" a technology blog? I mean, I would understand if the CIA or state department go after someone like Sabbah (the best Arab blogger in my humble opinion). But going after a mediocre technology blog run by non-technical people? I know some government officials in DC are incompetent, but even those are not that stupid!

Some people appear to be craving attention. All the time! Although I sympathize with these people and feel sorry for what they have to go through to get some attention.

Let me state some simple things, any sane/logical/reasonable person would understand...

    • The CIA doesn't go after people for no reason. It costs A LOT OF MONEY to "go after" you. But trust me, if they were after you, you will not know what hit you! Yeah, they're that good!
    • There is no such a thing as online "privacy". If you think your email is secure, then you'll sadly realize that it is not. The is not the case JUST on public and FREE email services But even for paid for accounts AND your email on your local provider.
    • Email can be tracked, you can be tracked, every single packet you send from your computer, no matter how smart you think you are can be tracked, and (this is worse), tied to you. Not only that, but it can be used against you in court where you will feel the heavy foot of the law on your neck.
    • As far as the CIA are concerned, YOU ARE NOT IMPORTANT! Unless you are a member of a terrorist organization or have ties to terrorism or plan to commit some form of crime. HOWEVER, your information IS STILL BEING TRACKED and saved no matter where/who you are.
    • Don't make posts when you're under the influence of weed, it makes you sound paranoid!

Sorry for being painfully blunt and honest

if this post was from some jew we would understod it but from someone who claims to be Arab Muslim, that raise the suspesion that you are a CIA agent. linking ArabCrunch with terrorisem is big lie.
ArabCrunch is not a me a mediocre technology blog . it has more than 150,000 page views per month, larger than all your websites togather.

The CIA targets ArabCrunch and every Arab in social media so they have contorl on Arab social media. how much did they pay you?

Ady, I don't "claim" to be anything. Also, the number of hits is not crap deterrent. Just look at the abundance of junk sites floating along with people claiming to be remotely related to technology like ArabCrunch.

It's funny when someone comes and just decides that someone is CIA just for stating the truth. I just love it!
Now the only reason you will not get this from a "Jew" is simply because they don't even give a crap about ArabCrunch! A kid with a stone in his hand is bigger threat than ArabCrunch. I on the other hand DO CARE. This slap on the rest is not out of hate, but out of sympathy. I hate to see great potential going down the drain.

Understand that I'm not simply putting ArabCrunch down. I am giving feedback that is long overdue on what is wrong.

I don't expect it to be appreciated, and I'm not looking for gratitude, I'm just being honest and forthcoming with what is putting turning everyone away from ArabCrunch. Even guys who were huge supporters, are now distancing themselves and turning their backs on ArabCrunch

Anyway, Thanks Ady for your comment, please enjoy your paranoia

That is of course not to mention their writing skills and all the typos! Never mind the poor quality of writing, but isn't spell check free! http://twitpic.com/2px4s4

It's gotten so ridiculous that I'm hoping their next post would be something like: Haaa! You've all been punk'd!

I think I agree with you, I feel sorry for him sometimes

    Who-sane,
LOL! Some people have way too much time on their hands :) But it's hilarious!

Yea, your last comment had a high score due to the crappy UAE proxies being riddled with holes like Swiss cheese!
