Talking about friends

Today, I had to write a piece about friends. For some reason, things just did not flow

If you were asked to talk about your friends, would you know what to say?

I wonder why I came out dry trying to talk about this. I talked about "Greening" the planet before, racism, women issues and many others.

But when it came to friends, I just found myself hunting for things to say. Why could that be? Am I the type of person who takes friends for granted and forgets what it is all about!?

I will be scratching my head a lot on this matter in the upcoming days. I need to know why!

How much would you be able to say about your friends?

For all my life I thought friends are overrated, I thought I can do it by myself, until I had to face the ugly face of the world, until I saw what friends can really do by changing the way you see the world, the way you see them.

So I'd say they're the backbone, even when taken for granted, at some point you gonna need them, you gonna need their support, their helping hands in the face of this world, at some point they gonna need you and when you really do something for them, you gonna feel alive like never before.

I completely agree with your last paragraph. I always held my friends up high, and expected so much of them. For the most part, they all came through and never let me down.
But it's sometimes hard to pin point their virtues and praise them
