I've realized long ago that many conflict represent nothing more than failure to listen, properly phrasing the message, or correctly representing the idea or a combination of the three.

The sender, receiver and the content can all have points where the meaning can actually fail to travel from one mind to another.

I guess, a definition of "Communication" is the process of transmitting data from one mind to the other. Regardless of the medium or the language. Communications are a greater concept than the method, or underlying protocol being used to ensure inteligible ideas are received with fidelity.

The consequences of failure at any of these three levels can catastrophic! At least historically that has been the case.

I see this everyday. Failure to communicate resulting in conflict. Many times leading to distrust and poor consequences. It happens despite the best of intentions at times.

It might be worth mentioning that spending a few extra brain cycles ensuring that the idea is well received, and the receiver is crystal clear on what is going on might avert disappointments stemming from misunderstanding.

In fact, there would be no place for misunderstanding if there were proper clear communications. Whenever someone says, "I misunderstood", that means that one [or more] of the communication pillars I mentioned above has broken down.

Do you recall an incident in your life that could have been completely avoided had there been clear communications?

    I agree with u Qwaider.
Communication IS a process and it has certain building blocks; if one or many of those are "damaged", then the whole process results in a misEVERYTHING.

I blv listening is key, if one lsnz with the purpose to -truely-understand, then the rest is manageable.

    Thx 4 this,

    H.

Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favorite
justification seemed to be on the internet the easiest thing to keep in mind of.
I say to you, I definitely get irked at the same time as other folks consider worries that
they just don't recognise about. You managed to hit the nail upon the highest
as well as defined out the entire thing without having side-effects ,
other people could take a signal. Will likely be back to get more.
    Thank you
