Bloggers and Top secret meetings

For some reason or another, I got bombarded with questions and emails asking about the top secret meetings. Some "inquiries" were borderline accusations. Some were trying to stir storms where I see nothing to remotely mention!

As you know, some of the prominent Jordanian bloggers have been invited to meet the Jordanian Prime minister His Excellency Samir Rifaie. The list includes Nas, Roba, Ahmad, Mariam, Lina, Mohammad Qaq and others (please forgive me for missing the rest).

I would first start by saying, with all due respect, to everyone. I don't think anyone who would receive such invitation would pass on this opportunity. It's not like you get these everyday and you don't care about them. Some people said they wouldn't go, since that's a hypothetical situation that may or may not happen, I think most would in fact go.

Second, there's no fair person I know that would deny these leading bloggers their rightful position at the upper echelon of Jordanian blogging. We have to be fair and give credit here. I'm not defending anyone. I'm just saying my personal humble opinion.

Third, I do believe this bunch was representitive of the blogging community. Perhaps not 100% of the blogging community but, that's the idea of picking a "sample". They're also among the oldest, most experienced and most influential.

With all of the above said, I think this was a wonderful experience and a great opportunity, to finally prove to everyone once and for all, bloggers can make a difference. They are being heard, and change is coming.

But it's also a great precedence in the opposite direction. The government is listening. With all the positive and negative that might mean. The positive, we'll, they're listening. The negative, sh$%T they're listening! In other words, your voice is cutting through the layers of bureaucracy in the Jordanian government and reaching the top. Complain, and believe me, you will be heard.

Just make sure you can back your claims.

Personally, and on behalf of all the Jordanian bloggers, I would like to thank everyone who went there, I'm certain they well represented all of us. They collectively projected our hopes, dreams and aspirations, and have proved that we're human with a face and voice. We got there with our civilized discussion, and our perseverance over the years.

Just expect more wonderful things in the future, and enjoy blogging. Enjoy thinking and speaking out loud. Enjoy complaining, enjoy your wonderful attempts to make Jordan and the rest of the world, a better place for all of us...

And for future generations

طيّب، ماشي. بس الجماعة اللي راحو اكثر من نصّهم ما عم يكتبو بوستات. و الباقيين ما بيكتبو اللا في مدوناتهم، يعني ما بيتفاعلو مع حد تاني. غير عن هيك كل اللي راحو بدون استثناء زمرة نخبوية، يعني لا يمثلو نبض الشارع الأردني حتى و ان تفاعلو مع بعض نشاطاته. وحده مدللة و حتى عربي ما بتعرف تحكي. التانية ما بتعرف هية صاحية و اللا نايمة، و التالتة مطلّقة و نازلة ترمي بلاويها على العالم. و الأولاد واحد كمان عايش في الغيوم، و التاني مدعوم، و التالت شكلو ملغوم. يعني ولا واحد بيسر البال. ماله مثلا باتر وردم؟ او محمّد عمر!؟ او حتى يا سيدي اضعف الإيمان اسامة ابو صلعة الرمح؟ مالهم؟ و اللا ما بينفع اللا واحد من الشلة علشان يكونو "منسجمين"؟
و بعدين عملية التكتيم شيء مقرف، يعني شو بالله اللي راح يصير اذا عرفنا انهم رايحين؟ يعني كانا في 1990 تحت الأحكام العرفية. واللي ما بيصف بالدور بدو يندعس على راسو
يا زلمة .. سيبك بلا هم شي بيقرف. و لحد هون وصلت المحسوبيات الأردنية. حتى في مجال الإعلام الحر على الإنترنت. بيطوو اكمن صوت من الوزن الثقيل، ويسترجي واحد يفتح ثمة بعد هيك.
معلش آسف على الإطالة بس يا زلمة قرفنا من هالأشكال اللي بتصادر كل شي، و بتتخوّث عليك اذا قلت محسوبيّة. اذا هاي مو محسوبية، شو هي المحسوبيّة لعاد؟

شوفو تا احكيلكم يا جماعة الخير! صلّو على النبي
لو كل البلوجرجية اللي في الأردن راحوا رح ييجي واحد يطلع و يحكي لأ في تمييز ليش انا مش معهم! يعني هاد اللي اجاك، شيء ايجابي و ممكن انه يتطور في المستقبل و يصفّي احسن من هيك. و احتمال في المرّات الجاي كل واحد حاسس حالو انظلم ييجي عليه الدور و ينعزم عند دولة الرئيس. شيء بصراحة بيرفع الراس بالمدوّنين، و بالحكومة اللي عم تتواصل مع فئات الشعب و منها المدوّنين انفسهم. يعني شيء و الله نفخر فيه و فيهم

و الله يا جماعه حكي "شرفنطح" بالكومينت رقم ٣ مزبوط
يعني انا شفت بعض من البلوجات اللي اصحابها تلقو الدعوة
بيني و بينك في بلوجات احسن مليون مرة و اكثر تاثير على
الشارع الاردني من هاي البلوجات ، انا ما راح اضرب امثله
بس بتصوري الحكومة تعمدت انتقاء بعض البلوجات و مع احترامي
لاصحابها و احترامي لجهودهم هاي البلوجات اللي "لا بتهش و لا بتنش"
، يعني في بلوجات و معظمكم عارفينها افضل بكثيير منهم و مستعده
تغيير بالمجتمع ببوست صغير و الها تاثير على شريحه كبيرة من المجتمع و
مش قاعد بحكي عن الشريحة البرجوازية ،
