Rated 4.7/5 stars (182 votes cast) Thanks for your vote!

The thunderous voice of Zeus in the scene where he half-turns like Clark Gable in the 1940's and roars: "Release the Kraken" is probably the only thing I'm taking home with me from this movie. Zeus performed by Liam Neeson, who played one of my most favorite characters Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jin in addition to being the voice of Aslan in Narnia. But everything else was pretty much the usual superlative visual effects with ... emm ... emm ... let me get back to you on that.

Of course, the movie is released in yet again, 3D which brings absolutely NOTHING to drama after just about every movie and his cousin have been released or re-released in 3D. To add insult to injury, there are 3D TVs coming up soon. But I'll spare you my hate speech for another post.

Of course, it's partially my fault going there expecting to watch "The Odyssey", when what I saw, in-spectacular-3-D was a very flat, 1-D story that's not only predictable. But feels like a Lamborghini with an engine made of a little girl on a tricycle!

This Trailer, is better than the whole thing....

Few weeks back I watched Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, and in all honesty, that kid's movie has more drama and a better story than this remake of the original flop back in the 1980s (yeah, that one was crap too, try to catch it at 3 AM on SyFy channel sometime)

What was entertaining for me at least was the "Gin" who appear to be speaking fluent classical Arabic. But what disturbed me, was watching one of them say "Together" and exposing his heart and trying to sort of "suicide/explode". I didn't like the associations that come with that. Like Arabs are suicide bombers at heart? What the!!?

Anyway, other than that, the movie is entertaining, but passable with no regrets

    4/10 on the Qwaider Scale

Imax is the worst kind of theaters ever created. The screen is perfect for like 4 seats. For everyone else, it's neck strain, pain and motion sickness!

why 4/10? We enjoyed the movie!! We watched it in 2D by mistake, but after reading this I have no regret doing so :)
And yes, I wanted to be sure the Gin spoke Arabic, because I only got a couple of words out of their "mouths", but when they said "together" it made me doubt it!
It's been a while since I read a review here! keep them coming :)

    Inshallah I will
Did you see Percy Jackson and the lightning thief? (he's also Percious) the story of the demigod is quite better to be honest (although, he was the son of Poseidon not Zeus) he still had that same retractable sowrd :)

And trust me, you missed absolutely nothing watching it in 2-D. Since it was a 1-D story anyway :)

To be honest I was never into such stories, I mean this was my first movie about the Gods and Titans.
During the movie my husband was surprized I knew nothing about the characters! Never the less It was an interesting movie :)

    Nido,
It's OK, I think in our educational system in Jordan and the rest of the Arab world we were shielded from the Greek Mythology and Gods and Olympians for really good reasons. You see, "Gods" would do heinous acts, murder, rape and fight. In fact most of the Greek mythology and world history of that time is pretty much R-Rated if not more. So we didn't get the whole picture deliberately

Anyway, now you can get all of this stuff at your local library and enjoy reading about it :)

Thank you for the kind words
Drilling holes. Nice topic! Of course, no one likes to here criticism regarding to his or her work. But it definitely may help in developing yourself and encourage to new actions. Although, for me it is sometimes better to apply to a writing service and get an excellent result. At least it concerns my study.

Yah, Sam Worthington did good in "Terminator 4," better in "Avatar," then totally tanked in "Titans." He needs to fire his agent.
