If you are in the creativity business, look no further than Jordan to find your fix of Inspiration. It comes in the truck loads here.
A country, scarce in natural resources, but very rich in it's human resources appear to have successfully carved a wonderful spot for itself, just as one of the world wonders, Petra, was carved out from the solid rosy rocks for all of us to marvel at the majesty and beauty thousands of years later.
All you need to do is take a little stroll in down town to be inspired with some of the most amazing and entertaining scenes you can imagine. Where the traditional and modern clash so violently, you can almost feel the shock wave, no, savour it. For it's one of those last remaining locations on earth that still have not lost its identity to glass and steel.
Another favorite activity of mine, one that I can do anytime of day, or night all over town. Something I can't do in most of the major US cities out of fear for my life. This activity is driving around town, again site seeing. A habit I acquired back in the days of collage where the guys would hop in a car, and just drive around
Aimlessly...?
Yes, aimlessly, most of the time, we're looking for something to do, people to meet. This is usually the way we discover a new place opening (I discovered the first Starbucks in Jordan this way).
Then we would retreat to someone's roof-top, where the amazing, breathtaking night lights shimmer from across the mountains of Jordan. I remember calling it, it looks like the sky, upside down.
If that doesn't inspire you enough, then you can always go out-of-town. To the hundreds or even thousands of villages, towns and cities all over Jordan. Even to rural Bedouin areas where you will be welcome with traditional foods from dried milk butter to fully fledged Mansaf. You just can't go wrong.
Every part of Jordan has its own charming allure, from the yellow sand-dunes in the eastern and southern deserts, to the red charming Rum valley. Jordan just does not disappoint.
Whatever you choose to get inspired in Jordan, you will find it. From the lovely people, to the amazing nature, to the wonderful archaeological sites, you'll find it all, and more in one place we love, Jordan.
Memories....
Lovely post qwaider, we truly live in a wonderful place and we'll realize that only after a day away from it.. :)
I'm sure Jordan has a lot to offer, and I can imagine that I might feel intimidated there.
Same thing goes for cities like Johannesburg or certain areas in Mexico city.
I know it's wrong to generalize these things, and they're more the exception than the rule. But perhaps for me, that's internally visualized as that. Feelings of safety in a country like Jordan and not in downtown LA
Thanks
