I was dead wrong about the iPhone. It's about time I admitted it... I was wrong.

Despite the Apple's Nazi practices, despite the lack of replaceable battery, despite all the issues and shortcomings, the iphone succeeded brilliantly. It was sexy and so damn cool. So sexy that it appealed to many people who don't even care about 99% of the cool features. So sexy it appealed to demographic that feels intimidated by the mere mentions of the words "smart" and "Phone"

The iPhone was an awesome success.

The iPhone wasn't the first phone, smartphone or touch screen phone. But it taught everyone how to make a phone.

Now Apple decides to sail in extremely charted waters. The Tablet market!

Unlike the phone market. The tablet market have not had any stars before the introduction of Apple's new toy, the iPad.

The thing is with tablets, is that they are products in need of markets. They're note full laptops, nor are they phones. They're not PDA's although they awfully share a lot with PDAs. But they're just over-sized. They're awkward to hold in your hands, they tend to slip and despite everyone who took a crack at creating a killer tablet including Apple themselves, everyone failed to barely break even.

I get amused from time to time when I hear a technology "expert" describing how revolutionary Apple's iPad is and how no one else ever thought of doing something like it.

So the question is, will Apple succeed where everyone have failed before? Only time will tell. But for a technology savvy person like my self (Ask anyone who knows me, I have to be first to get any new flashy toy). But I just don't feel it for the iPad. Even if is for only $499.

What about you? Would you buy the over-sized iPod-touch? (It's not an over-sized iPhone, cause iPhone can make calls, this thing can't, at least not readily)

Would you buy it? Funny thing though, people thought the iPad would be introduced by Kotex, but looks like Apple beat them to the name :)

LOL I cannot BELIEVE you've gone over to the Dark Side. The iPhone sucks. If not because of its ridiculous non-user-replaceable battery, then because it's locked into AT&T, though that's not forever.

I have not turned to the dark side, not yet at least. I'm not an iPhone user but I have to admit it turned out to be a major success. People love it despite all it's shortcomings. Now that's something wroth studying in great depth

Dunno if I would get it, I might, I mean it's a Kindle with bells and whistles but for the time being if I am to go portable I will get a netbook or something similar, and as for books I do like the smell of paper - plus having twitter and eveyrhting else is gonna distract me from reading.

However with my current set up at home (PC hooked up to HDTV for the lack of office space) when my sibling dominated the TV I end up doing all my work on my iphone, which does it quite well but the iPad would make more sense in that case
