Rated 4.6/5 stars (148 votes cast) Thanks for your vote!

I've seen so many people, so eager to get an invite to the new thing that is going to change the face of the internet... Again!

Turns out, there's nothing really worth the hype! Not a thing!

Think of wave as an ugly-ajaxified cross between blogspot and Gmail! Each on it's own works great. Mix the two and you get something that is on the same horror scale as Live spaces, when it used to suck few years back! (still sucks IMHO)

Basically, you're able to create "waves" of rich media (like you can't do that today) and specify who gets it (wow!!) Then people can interact with things like links, embedded videos and plug-ins that allow you to do amazing things like Voting. (Yeah, go ahead, marvel in awe)

My verdict, FAIL! Don't waste your time on this crap!

I read about it in the Time magazine, and I knew it is by invitation only. 100,000 invitations already sent. From the article I didn't notice any new thing or at least something that makes Google Wave the next internet platform. I might be mistaken but I don't think it is something that will change the cyber world. Anyway, I was mistaken when I thought that no one will find twitter useful. Apparently, I was mistaken so I might be mistaken about Google Wave as well :)

I still don't think there's anything good coming from twitter. It's unstoppable, but nothing is coming out of it anytime soon.

As for Wave, meh ... I'm not even remotely impressed. I know a lot of work has been put into it. But, other than a pet project like thousands that google makes every year that end up being shelved. I don't see any place for it.

Hi, I read about Google wave toO... but for me I think it is something great, will help to improve the web more and more... as we all touch the changes with the introduction of the Web 2.0 .

I think Google documents was the first step in this kind of projects. And for me Google document was very useful :) , and made me more productive... So I think this new thing will be even better.

If one of google's projects will change the web [and even the computers] world, then it will be Google Chrome Operating System.

    Hi Ibrahim
Wave is designed to be Person-to-person, Person-to-Many type of collaboration application. So like a glorified email. Not a something that will affect and change the way people do things on the web.

As for google docs, again that has some, but limited use. In fact, I don't know why wiki-media didn't blow everyone out of the water and introduced their own. But so far, online "office" docs have "mixed" responses at best (mainly because very few people even remotely care about things like online excel. Who would send their mother an Excel sheet?) And for businesses, they still don't trust online "things" with their financial livelihoods.

As for the confusingly named linux based Chrome, it's no secret. But what makes you think Google will succeed where others failed? They didn't even succeed against the iPhone, what makes you think they will succeed against: Windows7, Mac OS, and the already tried, tested and loved Linux flavours? Only time will tell. But I doubt the OS market is going to be very welcoming to any new players
