Why is it that everyone who doesn't fast expects everyone in Ramadan to be lazy and not doing their Job -because- of Ramadan?

Like we "set the universal standards" on employee efficiency in other months of the year!

Then comes the idiots who think everyone is "faking" it. Or have been partying year round, drinking and what up-to the last night of Ramadan. As an added bonus, just to show how ignorant they are, they would start issuing "fatwas" on how other people's fasting is not acceptable! What the ....?

No one, has the right to tell anyone that their fasting is not counted..

No one! Specifically someone who is not fasting!

And before someone tells me how "easy" fasting is for us, and how it's nothing compared to the hardships of the Sahaba in the time of the prophet, and how we spend most of our days sleeping. I would really appreciate it if we didn't generalize our own short-comings while projecting them onto others.

I know people who started their days with the sohor, worked until Maghrib. Not only that but did a fantastic job.

If you're not fasting, it's ok. Just don't go around bashing people who are. I don't need to feel guilty for fasting, it's really my business.

Here in the west, where people don't even care, they still however show understanding and courtesy. I didn't tell anyone that I'm fasting until I was invited to coffee or lunch. That's the only reason I told people, and they understood. Unlike certain people, who ought to know

Anyway, enough ranting, enjoy what's left of this amazing month.

It is only ALLAH who counts on people's behaviour.

Who sleeps during the day? Life doesn't really stop because it is Ramadan.
Al 7amdulla the people around me don't issue weird fatwas, well with the exception of my husband who decided that you can't fast unless you have dates (not a fatwa but more like a husband-wife thing).  Come to think of it, my cousin who lives in Germany decided that her fasting doesn't count either because they can't find good fava beans or Kunafa.

    Ramadan kareem!

The situation really saddens me.. When I was youger I did not think of not fasting is an option.. everyone around us used to fast and those who didnt used to hide it..
Nowadays, people brag about not fasting and think of it as a uncivilized manner.. you can count the people who are fasting on your fingers.. Its sad,, its really sad..
As whisper said they think themselves better than the ones that are fasting because for them fasting means if you don't eat food then you can't work even though fasting isn't about not eating.
طيب ماشي أنا موافق معك ، بس شو رأيك إلي يعمل في ستور و يبيع كحول طول اليوم و يؤخذ أرقام تلفونات البنات و يسرق من الزبائن و صايم.
Do we actualy care who is fasting or not? I don't, fasting and relegion is the relation between you and your God. As far as you work, do your job effeciently without blaming everything on Ramadan, then that should be fine. Ramadan is not only about abstaining from food, water and sex, but it is about helping the poor, reaching a hand to the needy. I think I will shoot a video on how people misbehave before Iftar and post it.

Mona said exactly what I wanted to say.
