Ok so I was wrong about Bing!

I've been trying Bing for a few days now, and quite frankly, it's been doing a great job. I really didn't expect it at first, but I am seriously getting what I need when I'm searching.

At first, I was off to try to give it a spin, just to see if it's worth all the fuss. Couple of days later I found my self doing it without even thinking about it. But here's the interesting part, I was getting the results that I've grown to expect, EVERY TIME! A huge leap forward in my opinion.

So I admit it, I was wrong...

Few things I love in particular.

When I'm searching for an image, WHY do I have to keep clicking "1, 2, 3, 4, 5..."? Instead of what you see in Bing where the pictures are a continuous stream you scroll down and more pictures show up. +1

When I am searching for a video, the minute I hover on the video, it starts playing excerpts from it, A MAJOR plus! +2

If you're living the the US, MAPS are amazing! I've been able to find stuff simply by searching and clicking on maps. +1 They even have a weird, "Find coupons feature". In an economic strained world that comes in handy!

Shopping experience is a slam dunk! I found what I needed, for the least price on the web, GOT CASHBACK$$$ and free delivery and payed no taxes. Excuse me, but for someone who does 50% of all his shopping online that an Amazing thing. +3

Looks like I was too quick to judge Bing, it's turning out to be quite a great product. For the first time a search coming from Microsoft actually DOES WORK. Now if people are going to start using it or not, that's a whole other story.

As for me, I still run to my old faithful google from time to time to "double check" my results, and so far, Bing is really holding it's own!

Hmmmm.... Microsoft must have bought out the company who built Bing. They certainly couldn't have come up with it on their own. ;-)

I tried bing and so far like it. BTW, my advice to those residing outside the USA is to switch the locale on Bing to USA-English (follow a link at the top of the main page). It turns out that the US version has a richer feature set than that exposed to the rest of the world, i don't know why would they do that.

in other news ... in its 3rd hardware release, Apple is now adding video capturing and a 3 MegaPixel camera to their phone. Seriously ?? Are they still dealing with hardware from 8 years ago ? Ahhhh ... I don't think i am ever capable of making the full switch to Apple computers
