Memories....
As for watching in HD through the web, yes, that is possible only using Microsoft silverlight (On Mac and PC) or that's what I heard.
Most of these devices can "buffer" the videos. So even at 6Mb or less, you can still watch the movies in HD. But it will take some time for it to download
Didn't you tell me once that you had 12Mb/s?
I am thinking of getting this roku box, on their website they say that it supports 720p, or do you recommend something else?
By the way, now we're on the Xbox subject, I've heard Xbox Live (gold not silver) isn't supported in Jordan yet some say they can still use it here. Do you know anything about that?
I'm not sure, but even at 5Mbs you will probably get a decent experience anyway
Xbox360 plays in full 1080p, but I'm sure the movies are upscale. It has a lot of processing power. But I think Roku is much cheaper right?
Get it, and test it at home, and if you like the experience, keep it
Khaled
I don't have an Xbox in Jordan, so I wouldn't know. I was hoping you would know and tell me :)
Once I overcome all the problems in the xbox, my RRoD, and my unstable drive which does not read discs.
Sorry, but the bad (nightmare?) xbox experience made me more an Anti-Microsoft.
Why don't you call micorosoft support? I hear they replace those for people
I am waiting to hear ur review of windows 7, on ur blog.
But of all the people I know, (I was late to get an Xbox by the way), none had a single issue. I know people who got Xbox 360 on the day it was released, and it's still going strong. So I would assume you were just unlucky. From what I hear, Microsoft runs one of the last remaining decent customer service programs. So I would take it to them and ask them to fix it for me or replace it. You won't lose anything for trying
As for windows 7, Indeed, I've been using it since the very first ultra-secret partner preview has been available and surprisingly have been very satisfied and happy with it. The simple fact that I find it -in beta form- more stable than Zifta (Aka Vista) says a lot. I might publish a review .. but don't hold your breath. You can however refer to the numerous critical articles, they were mostly positive regarding windows 7. And even the negative ones claimed that Windows 7 now looks like MacOS, which is actually a good thing :). But quite frankly, I don't see the resemblance. They're similar (because almost all GUI's look alike) and having Microsoft FINALLY fixing things to work RIGHT is not a bad thing
