زيدان قالها بكل وضوح.... خذو كأس العالم و احشو في .......

    zidanecard

he just made us arabs look more shitty, he could've solved it after the match, but he's just IRROGANT, I'm glad france is out (english baby)

    Man..
mshan allah.. he was never proud to be an arab and still, i don't like football, bas hell to the attitude? crappy shit.. even if the other played cursed his family he could've shut the fuck up and finish it after the game. still low profile.
    ir7amna .. ballahi tir7amna .. ya3ni elli bisma3ak bi2ool 3annak 7akam dawli inta! :)

Moey, I don't know what happened, and what did he say. But sometimes you really have to take a stand. Even if the stakes ware high (or low) as the world cup
Italy played like girls? So France was beaten by a bunch of girls? Is that what you're saying? Just because Italy's players were falling and the referee didn't give them fouls doesn't mean they were intentionally falling. As a matter of fact, France did commit a lot more fouls in this game than Italy, and I saw more French players loosing the ball to Italian defenders while falling to the ground than I saw Italian players do the same. The only difference is, Italians managed to make a lot cleaner defensive games.

When are people gonna admit that Italy just won the world cup fair and square? If France beat the #1 team in the world Brazil, Italy beat #2 the Czech Republic, and they beat the host nation Germany in the stadium that Germany never lost in, and they just beat France fair and square too. They didn't have to score a penalty against France, they scored a sensational equalizer, and almost followed it with another (Toni's header).

And Zidane is an idiot. The fact that he can so easily let someone get on his nerve like that just shows you what kind of character this alleged "legend" has! And for all those Arabs so hyped up because the guy is originally Algerian, he said it himself "I'm not Algerian, my dad was. I'm French."

Qwaider are you serious? how did he gain the respect of many? he earned the red card and deserved it with his stupidity! and it's pretty sad that he chose to end his career in such ugly way! Regardless of what was said to him, he could have waited to kick number 6's (what's his name?) ass after the game...

    Moey,

Are you trying to spell IGNORANT?? or ARROGANT??

The closest english word I can find to IRROGANT is IRRIGATE.

If that's you in the picture in your site http://moey.wordpress.com/ then it's obvious what you are. American metal punk wannabe who is ashamed of being arab who can't even spell english, "baby."

If Zidane's action made you feel shitty about being arab, then your haircut makes me feel "shitty" of being arab. Since when was metal music sung in arabic? Ya abu el engleezi. Allah yir7am jiddak lamma kaan yittabel 3al tanak wil zinko.

Here in america, the heavy metal culture is mainly comprised of alcoholics, drug addicts and prisoners. Americans don't consider these people normal.

    laish shaak ib3oroobtak?

Back to the topic, whatever zidane did no one can say that it affected the outcome of the game. We just will never know. I wanted France to win, but Italy played good today. Regardless of how good one team is, they will always have to adapt to another team's playing style. Some teams are just not that good playing certain teams with a certain style.

    A few things,

Zidane shouldn't have done what he did. Nevetheless, he's a great player and a legend, and whatever was said to him must have been awful.

Zidane's father is Berber. Not sure about his mother. Zidane was born in France. He's no more "Arab" than my children will be "Ukrainian."

Italy deserved to win, no matter what I think of them personally. They showed great spirit despite the Serie A scandal.

Gattuso looks good without his pants on.

What's my problem? Is that a statement or a question?  If it's a question, then re-read my post.

    Hasan,

you totally lost the valuable discussion and your value of talking as a person of normal intelligence. Childish Name calling and stupid labelling does not get you to places, neither kissing up to people.

    3eib 3aleik hal 7aki el fathi, w jeddak w jeddo -- I totally second Iman that you're nothing but a disrespectful thing.

People like YOU bring Arabs to shame,
with their labelling and stereotyping -- Er7am 7alak!

    Ya3ni.... sho a3mel feekom?
Guys try to stick to the point and not to the details. And please don't resort to personal attacks ... It doesn't add anything to the point. That goes to EVERYONE, with all my respect

Now this post is about my respect to a "arrogant" and "aggressive" gesture and not about the game. How it was won, who won it ... why ... and what ever isn't the point. The point is, "Sometimes you have to stand up for what you believe in, even if the price was the world cup" but frankly I doubt Zidane being kicked out didn't alter the result.

There are very few MEN out there, and a billion wimps, if a man stands up for something. He has all my respect
Qwaider, I appreciate your point, but ultimately have to disagree with you.

Standing up for something that you strongly feel about doesn't have to come in the form of physically attacking another. As a matter of fact, I do not know how such an act by a player can qualify as a form of standing up to something, in a noble way.

No matter what Materazzi said to Zidane, worse things have been said between players before and in many cases players acted the same way Zidane did, but it's the few world class players that at such moments choose to do the right thing and show class and sportsmanship and rise above the level of the other player. Such players, even though they might not get attention on the screen during the incident, still draw the respect and admiration of all players and fans of the game, and are always noted for their role in elevating the level of the game.

Zidane simply didn't have what it takes to do that. He's got skills, but showed no class. Sorry, I said it.
That's your opinion .. Which I totally respect, yet, I continue to disagree with your point of view.
Zidane might not be a great politician ... but sure as hell he's not a hypocrite and was true and brave. Braver than many who would accept to be insulted and continue to be spineless just for a stupid game!

There I said t, there are things that are LARGER than a stupid game.

    Omar,

I don't find the need to kiss anyones ass especialy Qweider's, since I don't know him, nor does he know me, and this is my 1st time reading his post. And I did find it appealing as I agree with it. Zidane did what he did and made a point. If you think the act of agreeing with the blog owner as ass kissing then this is how you think, maybe you've done it before, who knows.

Excuse me if I used the wrong terminology with jiddi oo jiddo, as it's been 2 yrs since I've been back in amman so I don't know whats out dated, whats cool and whats not.

What Zidani does in his life, especialy football does not reflect on arabs, nor it should "he just made us arabs look more shitty."
Just because he has an arabic name doesn't mean he reflects arabs. By that sense all arabs have attacked Iraq as John AbiZaid is Commander of the United States Central Command.

To you, "he just made us arabs look more shitty" might be just a simple remark, to me it speaks volumes of our lack of respect to our own identities and culture.

When Zidane played good, we arabs loved him, when he played bad, we got offended. If the French loved him in both good and bad, who are we to criticize him now.

I have to say I agree with Hamzeh here. You're right Qwaider, in saying that some things are more important than a game, but in the case of Zidane, where football was his career, such things would include professionalism, dedication to his team, perseverance, and dignity. The ultimate revenge he could have had on Materazzi would have been victory. Unfortunately he lacked the foresight to determine the right choice of action, although I agree that he was probably unfairly insulted.
Actually, he proved that his point is more important than world cup, his career, his country and his passion of football.

People Honor to people is more important than life itself. Let alone some victory here or there

Maradona kicked a Brazilian player in 82 and got a red card. He even cheated (Hand of God) and got away with it. For a while, we didn't read the name Maradona without the word "drugs" afterwards. But still, he remains a legend, some even claim he's better than Pele. Zidane has shown his class, and it will take more than an outburst and a red card to change that.

Zidane already got a red car 5 years ago in the same way when he played for Juventus, afterwards he moved in a record-breaking deal to Real Madrid.

His name has already been written down on the same line as Pele, Maradona, Beckenbauer, and Alfredo Di Stefano.

Plus, this is a more memorable ending to his career than a win even.

Zeidan's behavior is totally unacceptable! What ever happened he is a captain of a team, he should have showed more sportsmanship!!

Would you hit any one at the work place, if they insulted you?? Did we steep so low to have to solve our problems this way …it's sad if we did
    Cliches... cliches... cliches
Try to understand that there are things mor important than a freakin game! We have to stand up for what we believe. And our honour (if it was in question) is not up for dispute!
for you its cliches ...for me its a way of life I would rather out-smart people and have the last laugh...than abusing them physically ( well I'm a lady) or verbally. Besides your figuring that it was called for even though you still don't know what happened ...and very likely no one will.

Tamara, you're right... and regardless of what was said, it did not merit zidane to lose his temper and end his career in this shameful way! he deserved it! and I am sure he's probably kicking himself in the behind for such 'childish' behavior...
Again, sometimes, one doesn't need to always be politically correct to appeal to the crowds. He stood up for what happened. And when that crappy person grabbed his nipple in a demeaning way.
I will not respect him any less, because frankly ... he is a MAN! A real man ... not a wuss!
Guys ... why are you judging the guy without even knowing what really happened? Put yourself in his shoes and let's see how you will react to being kicked for more than 2 hours and your shoulder is dislocated and with the pressure of millions of people putting their hopes on you to win the cup and bring it home ..

I totally respect Zidane regardless of what he did or did not do, and he is a legend already ..

I doubt that the ending would have changed if Zidane was not given the red card ... it is a shame for the final game to end in penalties because it will be more than 85% luck .. besides .. the players are already tired and not as focused as the beginning of the game ... anyway; no matter how you judge Zidane for what he did or did not do last night, his name is carved with football legends already and nothing can change that ..

Khalidah, I believe his behavior in the game already changed that! he will always be remembered in the same ugly way he ended his career with!
    No Iman
Let me give you an example!
If Night in shining armour didn't sacrifice his life for Sit el hoson, And was too worried about his career at the royal Court ... he wouldn't have made history
It's so funny to see how people think of someone who by the age of 34 made his mark in history. :D he would be remembered way after we've all been forgotten!
Guys, relax .. it's just a game.... The game ends, but honour lasts forever!
Iman -Gald you agree : )

Qwaider and Khalida, its not really about Zidane, its the principle that I don't agree with, sorry Q but for me its a lame excuse that he is a man, a man should be more than only muscle and a hot temper

Well.. I'm a lady and i certainly am not the kind to solve their problems with their fists, but for some reason, I find what Qwaider said very true. Talking about what happened is something, and watching Zidane as he ran to face Materazzi and then (yenta7o) is something else, and makes you feel it wasnt only bad temper and childish behavior. Sometimes certain words that are said in a certain tone in certain circumstances make us do things we never thought we'll ever do. Regardless of whether Zidane is a legend or not - honestly ma batabe3 football kteer - he proved to be a man, not because he hit Materazzi but because he - as Qwaider said - took a stand and proved his dignity and manhood are far more worthy than the World Cup.

Interesting post and lots of interesting comments and opinions here. Personally, I'm not a fan of the World Cup, nor did I watch a single second of any of the games. I do not know what was said to Zidane to piss him off that much. Was his reaction the right thing to do? Can I identify with this type of reaction or understand it? Well, years ago, I would have given an outright "NO" as an answer until an incident happened to me that caused me to freak out and loose my temper. Two years ago a "friend" (not anymore) called me saying that she desperately needed a place to live for a while till she found an apartment. Of course I did her a favour because I know the feeling when don't have a roof over your head. Well, I let her stay at my flat to help her out. One day when I went grocery shopping, at the cash, I noticed that there was a lot less money in my wallet than had been there before... I could prove anything so I set a trap and caught her stealing from me red-handed. I couldn't believe that she would do something like this to me after I had helped her out. But what really made me lose it was that she looked me straight in the eye and denied it, even though I had caught her! So what did I do in the moment of rage? I beat her up and kicked her out.
Anyone can lose his/her temper, regardless of gender, ethnicity or whatever.... Do I think Zidane reacted in the right way? No... I don't... But do I understand his reaction if something was done or said to piss him off enough? Yeah, I do...
    Beti, good for you ..

Not only the guy was rude and nasty to Zidane, he also touched him in a very improper way .. so yeah, I do understand that something must have set him off like that and it is not minor .. after all; Zidane is not a stupid person, otherwise; he wouldn't have led the team to the final game twice .. but extreme cases call for extreme measures and I suspect that this was one of them ..

I am a lady and I believe that if I was touched improperly or provoked verbally in a nasty way; I cannot predict how I would react .. and yes, I don't rule out the physical reaction .. it really depends on the insult and how bad it is ..

Thank you Abed , kollak zo2 wallah :)
We have been working on the system for a while and thats why you are recieving error msgs.

regarding the popups; advertising is a part of jeearn work.
We are doing our best and you cant imagine addaih e7na bnet3ab.

    6awlo balkm 3laina shwi.
Thanks again for your nice words :P
I didn't know that you are responsible for Jeeran.com! I know that you work there bas!

    There's a problem with Jeeran.com

They can advertise with a more professional, not using the popups which freezes the pc...there are many smart way of advertising rather than popups!

    Good luck!

    hun, what say...
french players and holandeses players, didn`t conserve the spotive hummor during the games. They did some players fall down on loan.
This should be observed and see at real life, the simple angry can turn a big disappointment.
I descend on italian, an d i really know, how much they do jokes... if i become angry with all their jokes.Oh i wasn´t here anymore.

Correct me people if I'm wrong :D
ana elli fhemto inno what's being discussed is Zidane's reaction as a football player who has been insulted during a World Cup final.. not because he's of Algerian origins and not because his a Muslim (even if a non-practicing Muslim as i recently read)..
so, So What, if this very same incident happened with Ronaldo or Figo or even with any insignificant and non-legend player.. the prinicpal remains the same: Would you or would you not give away the World Cup to prove your honour and dignity are more important?
    wella ana ghaltaneh :/
