I'm pissed off at some Arabs these days...

Not because they are not doing anything to support people who are getting killed, maimed, starved, believed and treated worse than animals in Gaza

But because they're blaming these victims for being the reason for this war. They're blaming them for starting it. For attacking Israel. Sometimes calling it, you can't pick a fight with someone larger than your size. Others blaming them because they knew ahead of time that Israel is going to be very cruel in it's retaliation. Or because they live in densely populated areas, therefore the choice of fighting back isn't really theirs

Well, excuse me, but this war wasn't ignited because they did something. This war NEVER stopped. It has been ongoing for decades and this recent wave isn't the result of a tit-for-tat action

Don't you think someone resisting would rather be resisting from the comfort of his air-conditioned-UV-shielded-oxygen-supplied F16 seat where he's far from harm and all he has to do is play a video game where he picks targets on a dim-lit screen and bang! Then he can go home a hero?

    That choice isn't available...

What people fail to understand is that they DON'T UNDERSTAND! I don't claim I understand either. I don't know how someone who lost a Mother, father, grandfather, son, wife, three brothers, two sisters , uncle, and few neighbors feel like. Someone like that didn't choose to be like that. This life was forced onto him.

Arab countries avoid Gaza people like the plague, you know why? Because once they're in, they can never leave! It's almost impossible to make them go home. That's why EVERY door is closed in their face from Egyptian border to Jordanian territories to just about everywhere you look. No one wants them so, they stay.

Back to the person who has witnessed his family killed, and is locked in a 20km strip of land that is a prison for an additional 1,500,000 others like him. Forsaken, poor, unemployed, and starving. What would the greatest Zionist do if he was in such a ghetto? He would fight back

We are not only humans because we can think. Thinking is a good thing of course and it's a building block of our humanity. But we are humans because above other things we ask for our rights. We demand to be treated properly. It's our natural right that is guaranteed under human rights and plain simple common sense!

How did this guy get his rights? Who is anyone in the world to tell him. You can't fight the people who have done this to you directly.

I look around and find people failing to grasp these very basic concepts. Just like failing to grasp the very simple concepts against government corruption for example. On many occasions these people are extremely outspoken on women's rights (while the rest blame women for things like getting raped). But have these people ever stopped to think that this is exactly what they're doing? They're blaming the rape victim. They're blaming the people who are defending their own lives! They're blaming the legitimate, rightful resistance for refusing the unjust situation they found themselves into because of the mistakes of EVERYONE...

Give people a chance. Give the world a chance. Allow the people of Gaza to live in peace. A peace that insures their dignity and right to live free.

Israel, IS the aggressor. Don't you forget that! Israel is the one who defies UN resolutions. Israel is the one that has brought all of this on the region. Israel is the one that has attacked ALL it's neighbors. Yes, maybe they were in war against it in 1948, but since then Israel has attacked every single country around it ... And few that are even farther.

I'm not calling for the destruction of Israel of killing of Israelis. I'm just calling for a little bit of fairness and balance in the way we view the whole situation

I read this quote “They stole my land, burnt my olive trees, destroyed my house, took my water, imprisoned my father, killed my mother, starved us all, humiliated us all. But I am to blame : I shot a rocket back. So they stole more of my land, burnt my olive trees, destroyed my house, took my water, bombed my country…”.  Educating Arabs is much harder than educating the rest of the world sometimes.
blaming the victim is easier than blaming the actual criminal, you know politics wa allow me to say

i hate IE8 :( its got this nasty bug that caused me to lose the comment i added so im gonna make it short :s :x
... dadada thank you for saying the the war never stopped... da da da ... you compromised when u said: i dont want the destruction of israel, so u have done nothing we havent been doing since 1948, u wanna win this war? its gonna be one little very painful fix, u gotta adjst dramatically at once otherwise it may never be adjusted in steps

on the other note, help me understand something strange, the jews have been very careful before about their image in the media, this time as if they are deliberately wrecking their image and allowing all types of bad propaganda, ofcourse it shows the level of control they have (or someone has) over the political world, it just proves people of nations are helpless and useless, but for channel seven in sydney (owned by jews according to my knowledge) to be promoting the bad image aggressively more than any other commercial channel it makes me wonder, what are they hiding? what is this war covering? are they all having cancer and dying to do that to themselves?! whats going on?!

It is shocking and stupid that they do this!!!

Mohamme Heikal was interviewed about this and he said that even if Hamas had not fired any rockets and had simply gone to sleep, Gaza would still have been attacked, and the attack is on the ideology for fear that it will spread. I agree

I know very well Israel is the aggressor, and that the main reason the ceasefire ended is the siege, nevertheless the Qassam rockets are still tactically very foolish. They might as well point them at each other.

You see your little applet there that shows the bodycount in gaza, Some Israelis have setup a similar applet that displays the Qassam count since the year 2000! They're upto 8706, and those 8thousand rockets probably killed less than 16 people all together, yet Israel is now using them as an excuse to kill hundreds, and maim/disable thousands.

It's just a matter of risk vs gain. Of course someone who thinks they're gonna die anyway isn't gonna care about that analysis. So now that Israel has started its genocide, such an analysis is worthless.

I do not speak for all people so I am not going to, I am going to speak for my self.

I have nothing against Palestinians and I shouldn't, I am just not supporting the violence on both sides, I am against it, you have said it yourself, ''It has been ongoing for decades'', did any side win anything and if so was it worth all the innocent spilled blood?

Hamas is as guilty as the Israelis, if not for attacking the occupation  and hiding it's ammunition and explosives in their densely populated areas then for accepting this war to continue.

    Nizar,
What you're doing is equating the victim to the murderer. It's exactly like saying a rape victim brought it on itself by being female.
War is ugly, and it doesn't take you much to know that Israel started this. It has been starting such wars for as long as it has existed. Let alone all the ugly long list of practices against the people of Palestine

Hamas is the fabric if the Palestinian society, and Israel knows that. Therefore they're punishing the whole society collectively and committing genocide against all the innocents
By the way, it's against international law to follow "Militants" in populated areas. But that's exactly what Israel does EVERY DAY and have been doing for the past 60 years

Blame the murderer Nizar, not the victim

Very true, good point you are making.
We booth have a different approach to the situation.

I see it as the IDF, Hamas and the innocent people, you see it as Palestinians and Israelis.

In reality it is a lot more complex than that because they are connected to each other in many different ways, but that is a way we take to understand the situation better.

Of course I don't blame the Palestinians for just being Palestinians, I blame Hamas and the IDF for spilling the blood of the innocent people on both sides.

Of course the innocent Palestinian people are the victims, I am against the attacks on them, but I often tend to point out that Hamas could have made it a lot easier for the Palestinian people in this crisis, but it decided not to, so it is also guilty of some of the spilled blood, something that most people don't think of.

I don't want to be repetitive but I have to, I am against the violence on both sides, it does nothing but spill more innocent blood, I just wish both sides stop the violence and find a better way to deal with the situation.
First of all let me say this
الله ينصر دينك يا قويدر!! يسلم لي فمك. هذا اللي كان بدي اقله من زمان
    I totally agree with you.
I never knew that there are Arabs who actually believe that the Palestinians brought this onto themselves.
OMG, how dare you say that!!!!!???????
Maybe if you lived in their shoes from the day this occupation began, you would definately have another opinion, but hey, you're at home with your family and friends, living a normal, peaceful life, unlike the very people you chose to blame for their own oppression.
I believe in equal opportunity, but comments like these just disgust me.

Yemania68: you are not understanding me, I never said that I blame the Palestinians for what is happening, I am just pointing out that Hamas could have done what ever it is doing without endangering the lives of all those innocent Palestinians so it is also guilty for some of the spilled blood.

Simple, I am against violence, no matter who is doing it, I am against it, understand that without creating an image of me as a Zionist please, thank you.
nizar, not a zionist, a wimp!
Nizar, I totally understand you and you are entitled to your opinion. I guess your nuetrality comes from the fact that you live in Sweden. I'm guessing you probably follow the saying "when in rome, does as the romans do" religiously.

Ok Ok, I wasn't going to go any further with this, but for the sake of arguement...no offense Nizar......yes we are entitled to our beliefs and opinions, but when push comes to shove, which is the case with Gaza, dont you think one needs to take sides. You are either with or against a specific issue, you cant always be neutral. Speaking the truth does not actually mean you are promoting violence.
So tell me, do you think that palestinians should turn the other side and pretend that the assaults taken against them are fireworks? After all, it is their duty to obey and be submissive to this, right, considering that they are not entitled to defend themselves?
    Yallah, i'm waiting............
One of the many things that broadminded people believe in is the understanding to “agree to disagree”, so I guess our difference of opinion does not mean that we can no longer discuss this matter in a civilized manner, so lets.
Also, let me add, I have no intentions of judging anyone regarding their personal opinions, this is merely a discussion so if you cant take the heat please stay out of the kitchen. ;)
Let me say this, I definitely don’t possess the eloquence in speech as do the many commenter’s on this website, therefore bare with my lack of proper speech or, for that matter, my lack of knowledge on certain issues due to the fact that I am not highly educated.  Heck, the only thing I do own is my opinion, which is unquestionably my right, so here I go…………. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that there has to be a way to stop what is going on in Gaza, so rather than stating our disagreements, why in God's name dont we take action????
For a very long time, I have sat and observed as every male in my family, my community, my country, every other Islamic nation for that matter, has entertained themselves with the notion that their only obligation towards oppressed Muslims throughout the world is to blame the lack of resolution entirely on the Arab leaders.  Don’t we as human beings have an obligation towards these people, or are we just going to sit around and whine and point fingers at each other?
As if listening to grown men whining about this issue isn't enough, you just had to piss me off by making that post.
    Salam Nizar :)
Miriam, I think it's odd to call someone a wimp because they don't support violence especially if the person calling them a wimp isn't fighting either (shouting doesn't count). Besides wimps have changed the world. Some of my favorite world changing wimps:
    Jesus (although mythical)
    Martin Luther King
    Mahtma Gandhi

Yemenia, why is it you are only listening to the males in your family ? Does this mean the females are taking action or wisely not talking about actions they aren't making anyway ?
yup that makes me a wimp too, and guess what? calling ghandi a wimp makes you shallow enough for me not to discuss it with you!

It's highly entertaining when emotions gets the best of people. the solution that people are screaming for others to conform to --- drum roll--- do the same thing that they have been doing/saying for the last 60 years ! I'm sure the children getting butchered a decade from now will thank you for racking your brain juices to come up with this great solution.
I'm all for instituting a Gaza tax in the arab world so we can make sure everyone in the community contributes their share of aid, since everyone is morally obliged to do their part. what do u guys think ?

My favorite wimp is Albert Einstein, because he knew exactly that there are times to use Nukes!
Well let me see, how should I put this Hani.

Just the fact that you gave me and the rest of the Arab females such credit as to presume that the entire Arab male species is no longer suitable to take on the role of “MEN”, is within itself a compliment. So I thank you for that. I need not explain that, as we Arabs know exactly what that meant.  I see where you are coming from though; it’s just that we, the Arab females, have been programmed into believing that the male has top authority over us which denies us of the right to take action. Do I sound too naïve, week or maybe submissive, yeah well, I’m just an old-fashioned, traditional, conservative kind of person.

ياعمي مش بقولو "الرجال قوامون على النساء" او يمكن أنا غلطانة في لتعبير،فاذا كان هذا هو الحال إذاً أنا اسفة

I dont mean to be so aggresive with my comments, but its just that what is going on in Gaza makes my blood boil. I truly apologize for any offensive remarks.

Let me start over...........Can someone tell me what we can do to stop what is going on there? There has to be something that can be done.
I mean, I wish I had the authority or the influence to take action, but unfortunately, I don’t, which is why I’m here harassing everyone else. Wallahi I’m sorry if I have offended anyone with my comments, but Ya 3alam!!!!!!!!!!!  Can anyone blame me?

Yemania: you seem to be a skilled open minded debater, which makes me interested to keep the discussion going on.

For my part, I believe that I am doing my best to stop the humanitarian crisis in Gaza by making my voice heard and putting some effort in convincing people that violence is not a solution for this conflict.

I want the war to stop, I don't want more innocent blood spilled, I want people to find a better way to fix this conflict.

Why only observe men, History has shown us how men have always started wars and spilled innocent blood for hardly any reason at all, try to observe females more.

I in no way intend to piss anyone of, my intention is to make it clear that violence is not the answer, never was and never will be and who ever supports it is also guilty of the innocent spilled blood, and if you feel offended by what I have said I apologize.
    Yemenia,
Yes I know what you mean by "real men". I emphasize that once women ask for equality, it has to be equality in everything, not just the equal pay, or equal rights, but equal responsibility. There's no best of both worlds scenario.

    Miriam,
you missed the point. Ghandi is special because he achieved through none-violence what others couldn't achieve with extreme violence. You seem to think none-violence which is what Nizar is asking for is "wimpy", Whereas Nizar, Ghandi, and I don't.

Aside, thank you for calling me shallow, it's only when one lacks a valid argument that they respond with an insult instead. Cheers
Qwaider, I don't think he would agree with the necessity of using nukes first rather than having nukes available to respond and deter someone else uses them.

Even Oppenheimer who was instrumental in the project to build the first nuke regretted it later, and for his trouble they called him a commie.

Does your statement mean you believe the use of nukes in Hiroshima and Nagasaki was justified ? and if so, why don't you contrast that with what Israel is doing to civilians in Gaza ?

Of course I'm against the use of nukes. Especially that of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Not only that, I think it was not even necessary. But that's history

Anyway, I think we're all leaving the حمار and holding onto the بردعة
Thanks, I was worried there for a moment!

Although I don't know what a (بردعة) is, I understand.
Nizar, I truly express my gratitude : )  Knowing that you have chosen to view me worthy to debate such issues is an honor.  I understand where you’re coming from, I mean don’t we all want worldwide peace? Nobody wants more bloodshed; all we ask for is peace. But like I said, when push comes to shove, actions need to be taken. We can’t just sit around waiting for miracles to happen.

Hani, I kind of walked right into that, didn’t I? I was expecting that from you, by the way.
What you said about equality is absolutely true, but we weren’t discussing equality were we? I am merely stating that it's a shame that nothing can be done regarding this issue. The part about Arab males, that’s just my cultural mentality rearing its ugly head.
One thing that I admire about the Arab males is the fact that they are super sensitive to us females. I respect the fact that you don’t use disrespectful remarks when responding to my comments. : )

Bare with me people……I’m new at this and I honestly don’t mean any disrespect to any of you.
    Salam everyone
    Yemenia,
yes we weren't discussing equality directly.

My apologies, I think I confused your comment with Miriam's where she seemed to think every man is a wimp unless he tries to go to gaza and fight. (all the Jordanians and Egyptians who did that are in jail by the way). Whereas Israel happily uses both men and women in its army, and happily kills men, women or children indiscriminately.
