Would you kill someone to save your life?

Sorry, this was just a place holder, Article Updated!

So why do people accept Wasta in Jordan knowing that they're depriving someone from what they deserve?

    Save Jordan from this epidemic..

Love your country, Just say NO!

    Just say NO to Wasta

Every time you go to a government facility and use a wasta. You have stolen precious time from people who have woke up early. Took time off work. Drove to the facility. Probably paid for parking. Stood in line for hours. And on top of facing inefficient employees. He's facing corrupt Wasta people who cut the line.

The civilized world is measured by how well people follow the rules, even when no one is watching. The civilized world is measured by how people respect other people's time and effort. How everyone stands in the line and no one cuts the line. Not glorify the people who do as "enablers" and "connected"

Every student who was turned down from university because someone else used Wasta to steal his seat. On one side you have one person who managed to get in. While on the other side. You have a person who was robbed of their success. Something they rightfully earned. It's not a sad thing unless it happens to you...

Every time someone gets admitted to a public hospital because he has wasta. They have taken the spot of someone who might die waiting for help. That's how bad wasta's are. In the most simplistic personal way it could be.

Wasta is CORRUPTION. It's exactly like embezzlement, bribery, abuse of authority and every other form of corruption.

And corruption boys and girls, is absolutely bad.

So would you kill someone to save yourself? When you steal their hopes, dreams, time and luck. Then you're not better than the common thief

But, yeah, there is a good side to Wasta, if You're reaping the benefits

in the absence of role models (government and rulers) Wasta will persist.

I'm curious. If it's not too private, did a particular incident prompt you to write two posts in a row about wasta ?

About the killing part, only unintentionally, and certainly not if I knew the consequences ahead of time.

Does something has to affect me personally to talk about corruption in Jordan? No, nothing happened to me personally, in fact, I am ashamed to say that I have too many Wastat doing all sort of shameful acts that I'm not very proud of.

But as Garfan said, the whole system needs to be overhauled. And young men and women need to start having a change of mentality criminalizing these acts instead of glorifying them

The combination of your title and wasta reminded me of one of those ethical dilemas they ask in ethics/philosophy classes:

your mom needs a heart transplant, but she is so far behind in the line that she won't survive by the time she gets one, so do you go to a foreign country where you can buy a stolen heart, or do you let your mom die. Literally kill or be killed.

Thanks Hani for explaining it. That's TOTALLY the point. I'm sure you're well aware of the philosophical and moral implications.
I didn't know you took such classes... Your sal3a must have threw me off :)
