It's been snowing like mad for the past few days. I've never seen so much snow in my whole life. We've been practically stressing over stashing supplies in case the storm goes on for more days. So whatever time we had during the day we would go out, and get food, firewood and anything that we need for the house.

The sad part, the weekend is over. Maioush needs to work on Sunday.

huhhhh ... the weekend is so short when you're married. I swear, I remember when the weekend was so long that I would sleep to my eyes' fill and slumber around doing absolutely nothing while walking around the house in my underwear and long beard

I still walk around the house in my underwear :)

But that's not the point, today, we wanted to do something special, she still had to work, and I still want to spend some family time. So the solution dawned on us. Office Picnic!

Maioush can do her work, while I prepare sandwiches. Then we can talk, chat, update stuff, and while she's busy bossing people around. I get to work a bit and fix couple of bugs on this blog (yeah, I still have bugs, what did you expect? Claim that I'm bug free like ... ehm .. some Linux fans do?)

Anyway, this is awesome, and I recommend this to all couples. If you can't have enough time together at home, then have a picnic at work. Bring your sandwiches, your food and your blanket. And spend the day together :) It's AWESOME! I promise you ... you will not regret it.

Only drawback is that you can't walk around in your underwear .. but that's alright I guess :)

As for the "bright sunny Dubai" claim, Kj could be any more misleading. Dubai's weather sucks big time. humidity, pollution, Syrians, where does it end?

Ahh .. it has been snowing like crazy here as well. I actually didn't exit the apartment for a few days just because i didn't want to dig my car from under the snow or battle with the icy roads.

As for the weekends, for some reason they still pass blazingly fast for me even though i am an untied bachelor. Oh well .. it is winter break now so i better enjoy it :-)

This is only my second winter in this city. The lowest i've seen it is at about -15 C with wind making it feel like -21 C. But that was only for a brief time, and i've been told it gets worse in other winters.

Right now it is -2C and will get to about -7C at 9pm.

I am actually tired of all the cold and snow, i did my undergrad in a cold place as well but now i am tired of it ... bikaffy

Do you think there's anything wrong with programmers wearing dishdasheh provided they don't have to see the customers ?

pretty cool for some reaosn Jordan isn't that ocld this year, last year i used to literally freeze. but nothing beats Saudi winter it's much warmer.

Suha, not cold ? When I first moved here a taxi driver told me he wanted it to rain so that it would be less cold. I didn't understand what he meant at the time, but now I realize the dryness makes the cold much worse here.

there's still a chance it will snow soon!

LOL mab3oos! Well you're right, UAE statistics show that the climate is one of the most inhospitable in the world. I should probably add to my CV "can survive extreme conditions"! LOL! Syrians are horrible to be honest!
