I am starting to think that we [bloggers/readers] are holding other bloggers in such high esteem to the point that we really forget how arrogant, egotistic and stupid they really are.

Can you think of the negative things about blogging? Let me help you explore the darker side of blogging..

    Mandatory disclaimer!
Folks, this doesn't mean that EVERYONE as in EVERYONE is like this. However, I can't hide my disappointment in so many

Bloggers are a special breed of humans, similar in every way you can imagine to humans. But they do have a dark side...

    1. 90% of all the blogger names you know, are FAKE! (And if you read this and THINK that I mean YOU, then consider this. You're not alone)
    2. Bloggers practice the ugliest form of dictatorship on their blogs. "It's my way, or the highway"
    3. Bloggers are showoffs, MOST of the time about things they are completely clueless about. YET, rule 2 applies.
    4. Bloggers are exhibitionist by nature. If it wasn't blogging and had they had better looking bodies. Many would have landed on the covers -and centerfolds- of magazines
    5. 90% of bloggers think of blogging as a "therapeutic" experience. I wonder, what are they trying to get therapy from? And wouldn't a "professional" be a better alternative?
    6. You can tell if a blogger hates you, or have something against you. All you have to do is say something and watch him:
      1. go crazy all over you.
      2. Completely ignore you.
      3. Mock you, make fun of you, or how you think ... you idiot!
      4. Delete your comment or
      5. Block you from accessing their site or from commenting
    7. Every single blogger (Especially the ones who claim not to care) care about:
      1. Number of hits.
      2. Number of Comments.
      3. WHO are the commentors.
      4. who/where people link to him.
    8. Every single blogger (Especially the ones who claim they don't) Brag about Item 7. (See point 4 above)
    9. Every single blogger THINKS the world was a mess before him. And became crap after him, as the "riffraff" discovered their way around "his"-blogosphere
    10. If a blogger takes on ANY project, just look at what's in it for him.
    11. If a blogger can't beat another. He would take every opportunity to lurk and jump on his enemy. If he can't. He'll just side with anyone ELSE against that guy. Just a sign of true weakness!
    12. If the blogger is a member of a blogging social network (like Global Voices, Voices Without Votes or 7iber), they continue to follow rules in point 6.2. Ignoring you even exist.
    13. There's a lot of back-channel-politics that go off line. On Messenger, in private Emails, over coffee, over the phone and using SMS, don't assume everything that you read online to be true

Therefore I have few advices to people when dealing with bloggers:

    1. If think super highly of most bloggers. Don't! You'll only get disappointed!
    2. If you disagree with something KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT! (commentors on this blog are exempt from this rule)
    3. If I happen to piss you off, well, sorry, but I happen to speak whatever comes to my mind.

Now, WHO is your most favorite blogger, so I can disappoint you with some facts about him?

    Wow wow..Easy there Tiger :P
    Why so mad? :P

I am sorry to say this but i think you are right about this although i may wanna add a new point to this issue..

Dont you think that we may have Some Exceptions here and there?
I mean Some bloggers may be so true about their blogs...right?

while others can be even more interesting in real life than the sound on their bloggers..right?

    ;)
    Peace out!

Exceptions do exist. But they're rare, and so far apart. If anything, these exceptions confirm the rule
As for people being more interesting in real life than they are on their blogs.... LOL! You have got to be kidding me! People with interesting life don't have time to blog my friend :D Sorry, I think this sentence offends many bloggers. But it's true. Unless you blog once a year just to show how fantastic your year has been. And in that sense, you really don't need a blog!

Add points, go ahead, I encourage you to do so :). Oh and trust me, I won't bash you for objecting ..

Cuz they simply have nothing better to do in life :)
    LOL!
They're just riding the fad wagon

As for writers who are using Blogs as their methods of faster distribution, again, they're just trying to find an avenue to get to readers faster. And most are not very happy with blogs by the way...

For people with their own shows on TV AND BLOGS .. now talk about doh! It totally defeats the purpose. But many use it to actually allow their viewers to interact with them. But not really in the same way that I or you use our blogs

I really don't know were to begin. This post is loaded with misconceptions and claims of knowing:
    1. fake names. how do you suggest being anonymous without a "fake name." People blog about what goes on in their minds and feel more comfortable being undercover. Remember, most Arabs are so full of it when it comes to face to face interaction.

    2. dictatorship bloggers do exist (Moey is an example. sorry, but it is the truth). But, to use that as a blanket covering all bloggers is a gross fallacy.

    3. the "show-off bloggers" are the exception to the rule. I think it is more likely that bloggers ARE merely jotting down their thoughts on happenings all around.

    4. bloggers are exhibitionists?! Man, I am tall, dark, and handsome. (Read my next post!) yet, you don't see photos of me all over my blog.

    5. I partially agree on this one. Blogging is a good way to let steam out. Remember Angry Husband's shrink? S/he told him to continue blogging. What I don't agree on is the 90% figure. Where in hell do you get your numbers?

    6. No no no. I hate your guts. I really do. I wish that it never stops raining in the N. West so you would develop some case of depression and be put in a straight jacket, which will stop you from blogging. But, your comments are always welcome; I seldom bash you (roasting excluded); and I've always "argued against ideas" not the people behind them. (this statement does not apply to Moey. he deletes my comments!)

    7. I'll leave this to Rani Diranieh!

    8. see #7.

    9. that might apply to those "dear diary" bloggers and batir wardam (he chicken out and stopped writing politics. a big loss)
    .
    .
    .
you know, garaf ygrifkom. Arabs shouldn't be allowed to blog. and I am the exception to this rule.

I don't know what happened, I am sorry for the culmination of frustration! I was just thinking although many of my favorites have stopped blogging, there are lots still out there, and there doesn't SEEM to be the animosity that flared up during growing pains.

I am SO in blog therapy mode right now. I can't talk for long periods, (even my off-line friends EMAIL me (LOL)have visitors, and my blog has been a huge source of encouragment and way to get all my words out.

I'm sure that all those negative traits have some rooting in my wicked heart, but for the most part, I am just enjoying people and hoping they are enjoying me.

I remember you were the one I even found out about Voices without Votes from, and even promoted other people toward them!.

    I enjoy your blog. :)

This is just a few observations that I accomulated over the years, they accomulated exacly like the "disappointments" did.

I also don't mean anyone in particular, or that this applies to everyone. But I'm sure, we can ALL look around and see examples all around us.

I love and enjoy your blog too. It has a lot of hope in it and I hope you can continue with it, and help others see this hope too

Why do people take this post personally?! :D

Hani is my favorite blogger :D he3 he3

So, bash me on your wall :) I would love to know what you think ;)

But in the bigger picture though, the sphere is simply a reflection of what goes on in life - except maybe for the name part but then again some people don't use their real names in real life often!
I believe blogging is more simpler than that! It's simpler than analyzing and/ or setting rules..

It shouldn't come with a definition. And yes, each one is free to blog or not to blog.. to write about whatever he wants, whenever he wants. To be whatever..

And if someone minds that.. then he should not read.

There is a very common belief and perception out there in the world that drives and plagues many people’s daily lives. That perception is taking other people’s actions or comments personally. Some people take only certain types of comments personally and are able to fend off other types. However, some people take nearly every comment personally and that can cause suffering.

I believe that a person’s confidence level definitely effects how a person will process and react to other people’s actions or comments. Having a lower sense of self-confidence can mean someone will take more comments personally.
If you disagree with something KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT! <----- you're joking ?

I am using my real name, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Plus I've been in touch with more long lost friends and relatives who found me through my blog than through facebook which is kinda designed for that.

I haven't even met any bloggers other than Wasim who gave up on blogging very quickly.

I guess you could say that blogging is like every other area of life. Some use it well, while others abuse it. The fact that people don't always use their real names is not really an issue. I think the quality of the blogs and the information they convey is far more important. There is, however, no specific purpose for blogging. Whether people use blogs to get a message out, improve their writing skills, or just have a place to vent is up to them. Blogging doesn't mean that you don't have a life, it just may be an addition to your daily routine. There are many scientists, politicians, etc. who use blogging as a means to impart important information. It is, disappointing that people are being abusive toward one another. Everyone should have the right to communicate freely without harassment, but its not a perfect world. I say, stick to the blogs that you enjoy and stay away from the rest that "disappoint" you.

Can someone please give me a few tips on how to start your own blog?
I started my blog last night and I haven't the slightest clue on how this works. I found a fellow blogger,(princess N)at this site and tried to comment on her blog site with no luck.
Someone pleeez help me out here.
    Thanks :)
    Assalamu 3alaikum,

Since we are all open-minded human beings here, I'll just speak my mind and I hope I don't offend anyone, that is truly not my intention.

It's funny how us arabs constantly talk about how we sit around while our fellow Palestinian Muslims are being slaughtered. Why is it that all we do is whine and nag all the time pointing fingers at everyone else?
I mean...come on, I cant even get anyone to help me with my blog. I've been to a couple of arab-american websites and nothing, zelch. Nobody is willing to help. I know for sure that if I went to any other website, I would get help but I chose to go to my people...my beloved Arab people, but yet nobody is willing to lend a hand here.
Lets see.....maybe if we can start with the simplest of things like being helpful to our fellow Arabs (like myself), then maybe, just MAYBE, we can go on to helping our fellow Muslims that are being slaughter in the Middle East.
As for you, qwaider, I dont even know where to begin..............you sound like this person I know who is constantly judging us Arab-Americans. What is your problem with Arab-Americans anyway....maybe you had a bad experience, huh? Come on........every race, country, culture and society has the negative and postive so, please try not to generalize when you speak your mind.
FYI.....I have noticed that a very huge percentage of Arabs, I'm not saying all Arabs, that were born and raised in Arab countries are very competitive in every aspect of life. I dont mean to be judgemental or anything but I have noticed that competitiveness is one of their major traits, whether its regarding work, school or society in general..........even the Arab rulers compete for the West's approval or acceptance. It's never about unity or co-existence to most of them.
There's nothing wrong with being competitive, to the contray, competition is what motivates us to succeed, but unfortunatly, some people take it to an extreme.

Now There !!  I'm pretty sure now that I have spiced up my comment, maybe someone will respond. I dont want anyone to get the wrong impression about me, I'm really a very sweet grandma....hehehe

    Salam everyone :)

I'm not going to comment much about what you think. That's your opinion and I respect it nonetheless.
But I would like to mention to you that I have tried to send you the blogging tips that you asked for earlier and for some reason SBCglobal thought I was sending some form of spam and blocked it. I had my admins contact their admins and everything cleared up. I didn't want to state the blogging tips here. I'll try again later.

Anyway, I don't hate Arab Americans, I AM an ARAB AMERICAN! I don't hate myself. Although, I've been a disappointed by many of them
The vast majority of the bloggers I read for are not Arab American. In fact, most Arab Americans are late additions to Blogging and many other interesting technologies that thrived first in back "home"
    Asalamu 3alaikum,

Your probably thinking why I'm not using the arabic fonts, well, lets see.........I have no idea where each arabic letter is located on the keyboards so, you do the math. :)
I like what you've done on your blog, lots of creativity. I'm hoping one day God will bless me with some "creativity" to expand my humble little blog, not merely for the sake of blogging but maybe to help our Arab brothers and sisters in the middle east. Allah yewafikna bes.
I haven't had the chance to check out the other part of your email but thank you so much for your help. :)
    Assalamu 3alaikum,

    Yeah, its me again.
I was about to correct my typo mistake, but then I thought....hmmm, elkamal lilah, there is no such thing as perfection.
One thing I like about this blog is that we all understand each others mistakes, as I have come across a lot of mistakes, but no one seems to care. Back in the day, like in the early 90's, everyone had to retype their mistakes just so that nobody makes fun of them. Just felt like putting that out there so the next time I make a mistake, everyone understands.
You are all probably thinking that I talk about the weirdest things? Yeah........I get that a lot from my kids too.
    Salam everyone :)

So now that I got the hang of this, lets go back to the english. My goodness, when I say you have talent, thats an understatement.
Ok, let me see...........how about I pay you and you teach me all you know about blogging.
By the way, that "thing" that compliments the visitors, you know...the fantastic, the stupendous, the blah blah blah, how do you do that.
I know, I know they should make a book for me called "Blogging for Dummies"

مش بقولو الحليم تكفيه الاشاره؟؟  that doesn't apply to me....LOL
Thanks for your patience, you know old age makes us so hard to deal with.
