With the rising star of the charismatic presidential candidate, I can't stop myself from thinking how this is going to end, and if Obama is going to survive it.

As much as I would like to think Obama is going to have a smooth ride all the way to the elections and beyond, a certain part of my brains is alert to the fact that he's not white, he's got controversial positions on talking with foreign nations currently listed as hostile. But the greatest fear comes from the fact that he's being viewed by many as a "Mozlem" (Muslim), and worse an "Erab" (Arab)!

Both Kennedy and Obama are inspiring charismatic speakers with huge bold goals and challenges that they're not shy of facing them head on. Kennedy had the Soviets and Landing a man on the Moon. Obama has the republicans and the economy. (Among other things of course)

Just as Kennedy had talks with the USSR's Nikita Khrushchev Obama is willing to meet with Iran's Ahmadinajad and other "hostile" world leaders.

I am projecting a landslide victory for Obama, which is why  what I fear the worst. It's not such a far fetched scenario that a "crazy" fanatic radical-right taking matters into his own hands and equipped with a gun made easy to obtain courtesy of the NRA venting his frustration over republican loss by assassinating the Obama. Made possible by help of some insider people who don't really accept the new "black" "Muslim" "Erab" commander in chief.

Now, I'm sure any president will have many assassination attempts, it comes with the job, but I think in the case of Obama, the risk is higher... Much higher!

So are the similarities between Kennedy and Obama going to stop by facing and overcoming great challenges, or are they going to be shared to the end?

I wonder who's going to be the Martin Luther King of Obama, maybe he will be a Muslim or an Erab who will give the "I have a dream" speech -yet again- so that people can learn how not to judge people by their own ethnicity since after 50 years, some people still don't get it!

Hopefully, someone in the Obama security detail is aware of this, and taking measures to ensure Obama doesn't meet the same fate. No convertible parades, at least not in Texas

    Memories....

It is not erab, it is aayraab.
Do you really think with the current economic crisis in the US someone would really think up an assassination plot?  I mean wouldn't that hurt the country much more than an "aaaaayraaaab"?
I was thinking the same ever since I saw that Mccain Rally in Ohio. I was thinking KKK.
you guys are taking the "history will repeat itself" to the letter too much. Obama, the people around him, and the secret service all know too well the dangers and possibilities of such an event.
Mab3oos, the nearest thing to a US presidential assassination attempt in recent history was of Ronald Reagan in 1981. A man who was later found not guilty by reason of insanity, managed to puncture Reagan's lung shoot his press secretary in the head, and got off several other bullets to boot.

If one mad man came that close, imagine what an organized bunch of mad men can do.
