I'm amused and disgusted at the same time. I mean, on one hand you have an all you can eat buffet of DiCaprio and Russel Crowe on the other, you have the glaring discrepancies in the story, the inaccurate portraying of Arabs (and specifically Jordanians) and the Jordanian General Intelligence Directorate (GID) and missing the point OVER and OVER and OVER. Oh and the same desert scene shot in Morocco, the neighborhoods that have absolutely NOTHING to do with Jordan, Iraq or any where else in the middle east! Maybe Afghanistan in 1986?

This ongoing stupidity causes the whole move to lose whatever credibility it tries to establish when it shows how the CIA are really bad guys who are not to be trusted by even their own operatives!

But the coolest part is, yep, the Jordanian GID, outsmarts the CIA and are portrayed as really "doing their job better", in more sophisticated and humane ways. Oops, strike that last part. Humane only half the time!

Based yet once again, on promoting the culture of fear in the American public for their precious freedom and how fragile it is. And how there are literally millions bent on destroying it and taking it away from them, because they're Crusaders and Jews. Of course with the rest of the crap about the 70 virgins and how everyone is expendable on the Arab side, while being manipulated by the Sheiks and the Wahhabi money .. yada yada yada

What the movie fails to portray is the modern Arab world and how even ordinary citizens are fed up with violence and war. It fails to attack the original cause for Iraqi insurgency and all it entails from roadside bombs to chopping off heads. Repeat after me kids, OCCUPATION is illegal! Middling with the internal affairs of sovereign nations is a violation of the UN accords and holding people in places like Guantanamo bay is against the Geneva conventions. Need anyone say more!?

In an interesting twist of events, the Arab guy who is completely innocent and has done nothing but pray to his god five times a day. Ended up murdered because the CIA thought he's expendable and it's OK to use him as a Pawn, HOWEVER, when A REAL CIA agent who has killed numerous people, destroyed several homes, was caught. It was NOT OK for him to get killed or tortured!

This is EXACTLY the problem, when you THINK you're superior and your blood is worth more than anyone else, as you see, blood is worth way more than this false freedom people at Langley trying so dearly to protect.

Although, I just think it's the mistake of the movie and not really the CIA, it would be a disaster if the folks at the CIA thought the same way!

And just for the sake of credibility, would you freakin just LOOK at how Jordan looks like, even in pictures!!? For god's sake, it can't be that expensive to shoot in Jordan and depict an accurate image of the society that, for the record, barely has ANY Iranians. If it was an Iraqi nurse, then MAYBE but Iranian in Jordan? Come on!

And INSA means FORGET IT, not "It's terrible!" Ever heard of Yamli? Or perhaps Google Translate!? Or maybe just pick up the phone and call someone in the ARAB WORLD to tell you how silly you are!

If you've seen Traitor, then you've seen this movie, I suggest you save your money and watch the much superior dramatic treatment of the situation done in Traitor!

2/10 on the Qwaider scale, you'd better pass. Opens everywhere Oct 10th.

so are you saying that I will leave the movie theatre scared of speaking arabic and afraid that anyone around me might know that I am from Jordan?

You know they should make a movie called " Not another terrorism movie" a la " not another high school movie". I am really sick of this.
Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. You would probably feel "safer" faking an American accent and making sure you go to the movie completely shaved!
Oh wait! You can just skip the whole thing since, it's not really worth it at all!

Ah my Iranian friends went to the movie last night en-masse just because an Iranian actress starrs in the movie. Good thing I didn't join them.

Speaking of big-budget movies not doing their freakin homework did you see Charlie Wilson's war? I watched it last week:
In the refugee camp, asking the mother:
"So how many kids do you have?"
"hashta" which is EIGHT in Persian
    "She said SIX"
The movie lost its credibility after that mistake! Aghhh
My husband and I just watched this movie today and we agree with every word you said. The funny thing is, when the movie finished, as we were walking out of the theater the girl in front of me was so frightened when she turned around and saw me standing behind her. I guess that's the effect these kind of movies have on americans.

Good point.. but don't criticize the movie completely. After all they did make it clear that, Terrorism is a misinterpretation Of the holy Quran. At least they got that right? I mean for those who don't read much, and don't understand yet criticize this is good information * Laughs slightly* Anyways , I think the Iranian nurse was in Oman not Jordan, I remember her saying " Oman is my home now." .. But I believe that Oman does have some Iranians. Well, you know for once. Hanni was my favorite I loved him. Loved the personality, They sure new how to pick the actors. Oh and DiCaprio was quiet good I was suprised, and About " Ensa " I didn't worry much, Cause I thought he didn't give him the right answer to show off some kind of image. But yeah I did notice. " Ensa " Forget about it.

P.S the part when Al-Salim chopped of his finger. I felt that was uncalled for , and surprising. Almost gave me a heart attack. but Over all, I enjoyed the movie, And felt offended by it. Perhaps if one wasn't from the middle east, and didn't understand much into these things, If would be a good movie .

    Ohsuger,
Thanks for taking the time to comment here. Allow me to explain couple of things
Amman, (not Oman) is the capital city of Jordan. So what the nurse was saying is that Amman is her home now, (not Oman) although, it's totally understandable that this "lost in accent" would cause some confusion.
But since the whole set was in Amman, Jordan. It would be unlikely that they meant Oman

Second thing, I think there wasn't real tackling of the major issue. Islam was hijacked by these wannabe jihadis but that isn't what the movie is showing. In fact, it doesn't really have a true story or plot. Just the actions of couple of CIA folks and how things turned out.
The movie is really poor in every possible way. It's not worth the film it's printed on. And I don't say this out of hate or anything. I just didn't find such movie worth my while
