Do you think who else is watching you people watch "Bab el Hara", "Noor", "Sanawat el Daya3" and the rest of the shows that takes the Arab world by storm?

In addition to media promotion companies, who find their bread and butter in knowing when exactly to target the largest possible population of viewers, there are opportunistic merchants who feed on providing their customers with products that specifically utilize a connection with one of these favorite shows. Be that a perfume, a blouse or a house hold item. The end goal is so lucrative that it will make many companies target these demographics as best they can

But that's not the end of the story...

According to some "rumors" I heard from couple of trusted sources, it seams that these specific shows are starting to grab the attention of many analysts in the FBI and in the CIA. Analysts who are trying to crack the puzzle of the Arab mind. What makes it tick, what makes it respond and how to control it.

Apparently, control isn't really all the difficult. But maintaining it isn't that easy...

The Arab population appear to have two very deep longing to two main things. Unity and the dignity of older generations. Even if this dignity is only perceived and not actual.

All of these puzzles have the eyes and minds of many security analysts trying to figure out as much as they can on what works and actually draws the attention of the Arab crowds from serious issues.

So, let's say there was coverage of an Israeli air strike on a another bunker that has women and children in it like Qana, and at the same time Bab al Hara was broadcasting. Who would have people's attention?

How did the Arab masses get reduced to this level of shallowness?

But more importantly, who's going to take advantage of this next?

I don't think this is just unique to the Arab world, for example the Brits have Eastenders. I think the main difference perhaps is that
a. the shows that have the most viewers are not exactly our "current" culture
b.unlike the rest of the world Arabs substitute real work and productivity with TV
Finally even if there is something in these fictitious works that we admire, we never really work hard to make it happen.

I think shallowness is a human condition, East or West manifests a bit differently. Lord have mercy, the world is analyzing us with Sex and the City

Oh please don't feed that stereotype where anytime someone watches an entertainment show, they are surrendering to the international conspiracy to keep Arabs busy and care less about the issues. I know plenty of people who watch Bab Il-Harra and still care very much about the news (not that it matters since they usually can make little difference). I'm surprised because you had listed this in one of your previous posts (people who think the world must stop at the first disaster or something like that).
