Starting a new job is very exciting. Full of joy and anticipating. Everything smells new, everything feels great! But nothing better than your own personal space..

    My new office

    Welcome to my new office...

In case you're wondering, those are a pair of 22" LCDs, just to give you an idea of the size of this place

As I was saying my goodbyes to old friends, and people I spent so much of my life working with. It became clear to me that people's response range depending on their the way they feel

The first to respond back to my email titled "Moving on.." where the lower ranks. People who do the grunt of the work. The real heroes of any product!

The second wave came from people who were resenting their current jobs. The amount of negativity gave them away.

The third wave came from people who didn't care much, just wanted to be nice.

The forth wave came from people who were in disbelief! How could I have done that! It's impossible! Followed by an avalanche of questions of Who, where, why, when, how... not in the nicest of ways!

The fifth wave.. Never came.. People who don't even want to talk about it ..

Anyway, as I'm getting settled in, and getting my all my stuff hooked up and ready for me to meet the challenges ahead, I "stole" couple of minutes to post this.

    See ya around :)

Aaakh Hani, if you only knew what's in that room. It's not your regular data center! (ie throw in radiation and whathaveyou)... At 10C sitting on aluminum cable trays isn't a good feeling! I will nag about it on my blog later

btw samer your office looks like one of our proffesor's bel jam3a... too bad she gave a bad grade to a nawari and he set her office on fire LOL!
I know exactly what it feels like to start a new job, it isn't that easy since you need to demonstrate to the new employer that you are up to the task on hand and in turn they made the right choice when they decided to go with you. I would have to say that it will take you any where from six months to a year before you start feeling completely comfortable. The bottom line is: If you know what you are doing and what you got yourself into it shouldn't be bad at all, but if the job requires you to learn new skills to meet the increasing demands then you may have to overcome some of those rough patches. Any way keep us updated so we can pep talk you & keep you entertained during the transitional period. Regards.

    Jessyz
Allah ybarek feeki. All the best to you too

    KJ
Man, A777777, you remind me of myself 10 years ago :)... This will not last .. so don't worry my friend

    Hani
Thanks man, I haven't had a cubicle in 8 years. Inshallah I never will.

    KJ#2
Don't talk to me about radiation! I used to work inside a Faraday cage with something like 200 different antennas frying my braincells most of the day. But hey, my work has prospered and is being used by about 1billion users world wide. So I can't really complain :)

    KJ#3
Then I'm sure glad we're only 1 minute away from the fire department :)

    Summer
    Wanna trade :)?

    Hatem
Thank you very much for your kind words, they really mean a lot to me.
I am going to give this one my whole, I'm going to be researching something that impacts billions, the amount of data I'm going to go through in a day is equal to the human genome project in 10 years. But the amount of research and stuff that I will learn is just unparalleled. I really can't wait

    Jamal
Inshallah, thank you very much for the kind words

    Batoul
I made the very first indications to what it's going to be on your blog over a month ago :) LOL somehow, Allah made it come true for me!
Allah ybarek feeki and okbalek ya rab

    MD
Allah ybarek feeki. Yeah, I managed to get a nice corner-window-office next to everything I need :) I also have a private meeting room that I didn't show here. So I really can't complain. I'm just glad I'm going to work on something I genuinely love

    Wonders
Thanks a lot my dear friend. Wallahi your kind words mean a lot to me.
    Okbalek inshallah

speaking of the devil, there was a fire prank now lol! good i turned off gas suppression haha

    stupid kids

who the heck put an effing testbed underneath a campus
Speaking of Fires, are you guys still using Halon for fire suppression? (It's illegal here now, since it's a CFC)
    Good luck Qwaider.
    alf mabrook..
If I were you I would turn the desk and face the door and keep an eye on the outside at the same time lool
    Best of luck :)
Thanks Dima, that means a lot to me
Salamat to my dear friend Nemir

    Noura
Allah ybarek feeki ya Rab. But how can I turn the desk towards the door and keep an eye on the outside (behind me) at the same time?
I would need to do that if I needed some additional privacy. But since I'm already in my own office, all the privacy I need I can get by simply closing my blinds and shutting my door. So why bother with the rest :)

Anyway, I might still change it if I had to
